What an exciting day!!! Delivery day!!!!

Such a whirlwind and bittersweet as I said goodbye to these angels that I’ve been working on since June! Learned so many new skills and encountered and conquered many hurdles. 😅

I could say more words, but I’ll just leave these for now:

Visited with family over Thanksgiving, and my dad brought up this painting I had done a few years back. (My dad is a huge UT fan if you can’t tell!) it’s not the greatest pic, but Instagram wasn’t my thing at the time 😆

So yes - I’m now talking to a friend that teases me to paint cows- I guess I have painted now two cow paintings. 😂 🐮

Said goodnight to these boys after a late-night painting session in the studio, and I can finally see the finish line!!

But y’all… I think I’m gonna be a little sad when they’re gone. Happy, of course, to be wrapping them up — but still. 😅✨

The children have watched these angels float around the house in various stages of completion since June. I’ve held babies on my hip and tried every kind of “gate” imaginable to keep tiny hands away. Will they remember this? Will it go down in the family history as “The Year of the Angels”? Eating dinner at the table while Mom gilded a panel on the other side. 😂💕

I joke sometimes that it’s “an artist life” or that I’m a “mom artist”… but really, we are an artist family. Everyone has played a part in bringing these pieces to life — from Dad helping pose for references, to the kids voting on sketches, gathering supplies, learning skills, and each adding a few little strokes of their own. And lots of baby sitting the baby. 😅😅😅

Oratory Part 3- The room itself!

How it started, with pretty much a storage room with ceiling tiles and florescent lights…..and drippy pipes!! Got those fixed and away we went!! 💪

I’m so grateful for all the helpers and volunteers who have tirelessly donated their time and talents in helping make this Oratory transform into a space that can help the children feel the Holiness of God.

Getting there!!!! More to come!

Shout outs -especially to my partner Sr Mary Avila- and all her amazing sisters , Danielle, Allison, FRANK, Michelle, Anne, Margit, the Zarzars, Mason Family, Mr Silver, Ms V, those who held my babies and many more!! This village is amazing!

Finally- it is time for adding the oil paint!!!!! 🎨

When I walked into the “painting studio” - really my husbands office - (😂😅 he’s the sweetest, it has the BEST LIGHT in the morning) all I could hear in my head was the scene from lion king telling me it was time. 😂 🦁

It’s been such constricting activity on these panels thus far- very exact with the gilding. But the gilding is finally complete!! (I didn’t want to gild after oiling and risking foil dust getting into the paint.)

Here we go!! Two angel panels in progress for the Oratory project. I really need to share how the room has been changed the past couple months into a place more fitting for Jesus. 💕

Morning view ☕️

I’ve been painting BLUE on this custom wood panel piece all week! Finally, the blue background on the right panel is finished!!! The stars and edge need foiling but they have their background layer of ochre. 😅
Progress!!!

Two of the stars near the top have already been foiled! 🌟Can you find them?

Now I need to catch up the other angel!!! 😇

Progress report!!! 🎉 The panels have been carved, routed, sanded, sealed, gesso’ed, edged and NOW SKETCHED!!! 💕

Shout out to my amazing husband for watching the littles during this! Shoutout also to St Joseph who I begged intercession while I learned new carpentry skills.

I am AMAZED. ☺️ Almost every order this past month has included a request for my Holy Spirit vinyl sticker! 🤯💕

It is my favorite- I’m glad y’all seem to agree! It has lasted over a year on my own water bottle and still looks new!

This originally comes from my Holy Spirit watercolor giclée print. I love including images of the Holy Spirit in my paintings, especially if I can include flames. (This also conveniently gives me extra dove drawing practice.)

My waterproof stickers are great for kid water bottles, notebooks and prayer journals, cars, teacher gifts, mugs, flower pots, rosary boxes, prayer walls, and more. I want to see how it does on the outside of a plain glass candle next. 🕯

Where else do you use your vinyl stickers? I’d LOVE to know!!!!

It’s officially added!!!!
(I confess, I’ve ordered these before, but it was a 10 pack and my friends and family quickly snatched them up before I could list them 🤣💕!!!)
