🐉💙 Sometimes I surprise myself! 🥹

My sister asked me if I made Halloween costumes because my nephew wanted to be a dragon for Halloween, and she couldn’t find a costume for the blue dragon from How to Train Your Dragon… so naturally, Aunt Kenzie had to make it happen! 🪡🧵

From the shimmering wings to the spiked tail and matching mask, every little detail was made from scratch! This project definitely challenged me (and tested my patience a few times 😂), but seeing it all come together made every stitch worth it.

But the best part? 🥹💙

When I got to my sister’s house, my nephew came running outside, SO excited, thanking me for making his costume. And just when I thought my heart couldn’t get any fuller, my sister sent me a video of him running around the house wearing it. 🥹😭

THAT right there is why I love what I do.

One of my favorite things about sewing is being able to take an idea and turn it into something special, especially when it’s for someone I love. It’s moments like these that remind me why I started sewing in the first place. 💙

First market: DONE!! 🧵🩷

I had my very first market today, and I’m still taking it all in. 🥹

I have to give the biggest thank you to my amazing husband for waking up at the crack of dawn with me, helping load the car, driving to the market, setting everything up, tearing everything down, and doing about a million little things in between. Thank you for pushing me—in a good way—to step out of my comfort zone and share my work with others. I truly couldn’t have done today without you. ❤️

Thank you so much to my mom and stepdad for coming out, supporting me, spending the whole day with me, and helping with setup and teardown. And thank you to all of my friends and family who stopped by, supported me, shared my work, and purchased something handmade by me. It meant more than you know.

I’m also so thankful for everyone who encouraged me to finally put myself out there and sell the things I’ve been creating. One of my favorite parts of today was getting to meet so many people, talk about my work, and hear such kind and encouraging words about the things I’ve made. Those moments made all of the planning, chaos, late nights, and lack of sleep completely worth it. 🥹🧵

Overall, my first market was a huge success, and I reached the goals I had set for myself going into today. I learned a ton, had so much fun, and I’m already thinking about the next one. 🤭
