Elaina is a Spring 2026 Graduate receiving a degree in Theatre: For Youth and Communities. Her favorite TheatreUNI memory was working as the costume crew head for Gretel! The Musical. “My sister, Lydia, was in the show and it had a great cast and crew. I also loved working with Amy for this show.”

During her time at UNI, her favorite TheatreUNI show to watch was Airness. She loved working behind the scenes in “Popped!” however, her favorite show she worked on all together was Gretel.

Elaina’s next step will be returning to working at a summer day camp and then working with kids in any capacity she can!

Please join us for Amy’s Retirement Celebration Potluck as we celebrate Amy’s 35 years of service to the Theatre Department at the University of Northern Iowa

The celebration will be taking place at St. Luke’s Episcipal Church (2410 Melrose Dr. Cedar Falls, IA 50613) on May 14th, 2026, 6pm.

Please bring food or drinks to share if you are able, but your presence is most appreciated. You can also bring beverages, including alcoholic ones.

Her History with UNI:
Amy RohrBerg has an incredible history with UNI. After completing her MFA in theatre from Michigan State University, she began her tenure and teaching career in Fall of 1990. In a performance appraisal letter from 1992, the letter states “Amy’s work has been exemplary. Her commitment to the job is beyond anyone’s reasonable expectations.” Also quoted in this letter is an unnamed student who said “Amy’s great to work for. What can we do to keep her?” Whatever they did worked. She stayed for 35 years. She began her work as an adjunct professor and received an offer as an tenure track assistant professor in summer of 1996 and she was raised to Associate professor with tenure in 2002.

Amy has improved the lives of every person she interacted with, and she has had a large and meaningful impact on this theatre community and UNI. She leads with grace, kindness, and laughter in all that she does.

Thank You Amy! Your hard and dedicated work has left a lasting impact on our program!

Congratulations Hannah Pratt!

Hannah Pratt is a Spring 2026 Graduate receiving a degree in Theatre: Design & Production. Her favorite TheatreUNI memory is during tech for UNISTA’s Almost, Maine. “There was a blizzard outside with the biggest snowflakes I had ever seen; during a break, the production team ran out into the snow, without coats or any snow gear mind you, and started throwing snowballs, making snow angels, and catching snowflakes on our tongues. It was such a beautiful moment of whimsy and laughter.”

During her time at UNI, Hannah P’s favorite TheatreUNI show was Witch. “I just love how everything came together. The scenery and lights are gorgeous, the costumes are beautiful, and the acting is phenomenal.”

Hannah Pratt’s next step will be working as a wardrobe, hair, and makeup technician at the Lost Island Theme Park & Water Park in Cedar Falls, Iowa this summer. In Fall 2026, Hannah Pratt will be back at TheaterUNI as the guest costume designer for A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She explained “I am very excited about both of these opportunities and can’t wait to see what the future holds for me as a professional theater artist.”
