Quincy Community Theatre in Quincy, Illinois is looking search for their next Director of Education.

"The position leads QCT’s theatre education programs, including classes, youth productions, school partnerships, and community outreach. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about theatre education and working with young people, but who also enjoys directing, program development, and the broader work of a community theatre.
Because of your work, I wondered if you might know a recent graduate, alum, colleague, or professional contact who could be a strong fit. We are intentionally expanding our search beyond Illinois and would love to reach theatre educators and professionals throughout the Midwest.
The position is full-time, with a salary of $50,000–$55,000, 100% employer-paid health insurance, paid vacation, and a retirement match after 90 days. Relocation to Quincy is required, but we are encouraging candidates from throughout the Midwest to apply.
You can see the full job listing here: https://www.1qct.org/employment/. If someone comes to mind, I’d be grateful if you would pass it along—or feel free to connect us directly.

Thank you for helping us spread the word!

Best,
Burgundy Hill
Executive Director"

Elaina is a Spring 2026 Graduate receiving a degree in Theatre: For Youth and Communities. Her favorite TheatreUNI memory was working as the costume crew head for Gretel! The Musical. “My sister, Lydia, was in the show and it had a great cast and crew. I also loved working with Amy for this show.”

During her time at UNI, her favorite TheatreUNI show to watch was Airness. She loved working behind the scenes in “Popped!” however, her favorite show she worked on all together was Gretel.

Elaina’s next step will be returning to working at a summer day camp and then working with kids in any capacity she can!

Thank you Elaina for your hard work during your time at the University of Northern Iowa! TheatreUNI is proud to be your Alma Mater!

Please join us for Amy’s Retirement Celebration Potluck as we celebrate Amy’s 35 years of service to the Theatre Department at the University of Northern Iowa

The celebration will be taking place at St. Luke’s Episcipal Church (2410 Melrose Dr. Cedar Falls, IA 50613) on May 14th, 2026, 6pm.

Please bring food or drinks to share if you are able, but your presence is most appreciated. You can also bring beverages, including alcoholic ones.

Her History with UNI:
Amy RohrBerg has an incredible history with UNI. After completing her MFA in theatre from Michigan State University, she began her tenure and teaching career in Fall of 1990. In a performance appraisal letter from 1992, the letter states “Amy’s work has been exemplary. Her commitment to the job is beyond anyone’s reasonable expectations.” Also quoted in this letter is an unnamed student who said “Amy’s great to work for. What can we do to keep her?” Whatever they did worked. She stayed for 35 years. She began her work as an adjunct professor and received an offer as an tenure track assistant professor in summer of 1996 and she was raised to Associate professor with tenure in 2002.

Amy has improved the lives of every person she interacted with, and she has had a large and meaningful impact on this theatre community and UNI. She leads with grace, kindness, and laughter in all that she does.

Thank You Amy! Your hard and dedicated work has left a lasting impact on our program!

Congratulations Andrew Breitsprecher!

Andrew is a Spring 2026 Graduate receiving a degree in Theatre: Performance and Theatre: For Youth and Communities. His favorite TheatreUNI memory is Katy Hahn getting scared by a rat and pushing Eric Chen in the way in New York on the Wise Broadway Tour.

Andrew’s favorite quote from his years as a Panther comes from Eric Lange who said “I’m gonna do a little happy dance,” and proceeded to do a little happy dance.

During his time at UNI, his favorite TheatreUNI show was Natasha, Pierre, & The Great Comet of 1812.

Andrew’s next step will be a summer with Young Footliters in Coralville, Iowa before moving to Omaha, Nebraska in the fall to start a fellowship at The Rose Theater.

Thank you Andrew for your hard work during your time at the University of Northern Iowa! TheatreUNI is proud to be your Alma Mater!
