It was about 3 years in the making, and a big departure from my normal style, but the Art Deco guitar is done! I used some of the best Euro maple I have ever come across, one of the cleanest Englmann tops and alot of ebony inlay. The name plate in the headstock is sterling silver engraved by a very talented friend. It also has some custom art deco tuners by the gifted Keith Robson. It has been a challenge and a joy and is finally ready to go to a new home.

Getting started on a special guitar. I've worked with Heart's Home Acoustics for several years now it's a great shop with great people. So when the owner of the store called and asked me to build him his next personal guitar from some stunning old Brazilian from his private stock I consider it a huge honor! This will be the first 12 fret Aria guitar so I'm very excited to see how it turns out, should be a sweet little guitar.

I don't know how many of you remember my art deco project. I started this guitar almost 3 years ago or something like that and I had been posting it's progress as I went. Well I haven't been able to work on if for months but I've finally gotten it into the spray room and I'm getting pretty excited. Nearly at the end and I'm very happy with it, I think it's coming together beautifully.

Last week I sent out this stunning African Blackwood burl guitar. I've never seen anything like this in AB. I paired it with a Lutz spruce top and the combination is outstanding, I don't think I've gotten such piano like qualities before. I would have liked to get some professional photos but time didn't permit. I think the maple burl binding and arm bevel complimented the figure in the blackwood beautifully

Here is the latest of my Aria guitars. This one has back, sides, fretboard, bridge, and headstock veneers all cut from the same billet of Cocobolo. I know guitarmakers probably say this to the point that it has become cliche, but it was hard to let this one go. I loved playing this little guitar. But it went to a good home which took the sting out of letting it go.

A tale of two brothers. By pure coincidence I have two guitars going in the shop that have Cocobolo back and sides that I cut from the same billet of wood a couple years ago. One is my smallest model, the 00 size Aria and the other is an SJ size guitar that I am building for Ray Lamontagne.
