Scully Learning Foundation

Ensuring developmentally disabled adults live fulfilling lives with lifelong residential security. The Center is located on the banks of Cave Creek.

Scully Learning Center was developed to provide Experiences to enrich the lives of our developmentally disabled participants. The facility includes an organic garden; chickens, ducks, goats and tortoises; computers; fully equipped kitchen; a fully equipped ceramic studio and several other art creation sites. In addition we provide opportunities for hiking and a variety of field trips. We recently

added three Strider Pedaless Bikes and have added a race track to our wish list. We are staffed exclusively by volunteers and always welcome new ideas and new participants.

For more than 15 years, Scully Learning Center has been creating moments that matter - moments filled with smiles, friendship, discovery, confidence, and joy. Through adventures, activities, creative experiences, and meaningful connections, we’ve watched lives grow brighter one memory at a time.

Every laugh shared, every new experience, and every smile reminds us why we do what we do. Thank you to our families, supporters, volunteers, and community for helping us continue creating these moments and making a lasting difference for the individuals we serve.

Community partners make big things happen ... one small act at a time! A special thank you to our friends at Stumblina's Cantina for joining Pennies for Preserving Families campaign and helping collect spare change to support our mission.

By encouraging their customers to participate, Stumblina’s is helping turn everyday generosity into meaningful impact for adults with developmental disabilities and helping move us closer to our goal. This Memorial Day, Scully Learning Center honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice, courage, and dedication to protecting the freedoms we cherish each day. As we spend time with family, friends, and our community this holiday weekend, we pause in remembrance and gratitude for those who served and sacrificed for our nation.

At Scully Learning Center, we are committed to helping older adults with disabilities live meaningful, connected, and fulfilling lives. Through enriching activities, community experiences, social interaction, and supportive programs, participants have opportunities to build friendships, stay engaged, and enjoy experiences that encourage confidence, independence, and joy.

The memories and moments shared through outings and special activities are about so much more than simply having fun, they help foster connection, belonging, personal growth, and quality of life for the individuals and families we proudly serve.

We love to get out and explore! Here are some pictures from our travels to Boyce Thompson Arboretum, discovering the unique plants, desert landscapes, and natural beauty that make Arizona so special.

From learning about nature and the environment to simply enjoying time together outdoors, the day was filled with smiles, curiosity, and memorable experiences. We love creating opportunities for our participants to explore, learn, and connect with the world around them!

International Family Day reminds us just how important family, connection, and belonging truly are. At Scully Learning Center, that mission is deeply reflected in the vision for the Preserving Families Home, a place designed to help keep families together, especially siblings, when a parent or caregiver can no longer provide care.

Too often, individuals with disabilities face uncertainty and separation during life transitions. The Preserving Families Home is being created to provide stability, support, and a loving home environment where family bonds can continue to grow and thrive. Because everyone deserves the comfort of connection, community, and a place to call home.

Last Monday, the Kiwanis Club of Carefree, AZ, awarded over $550,000 in scholarships to 45 graduating students. One of those scholarships is special to Scully Learning Center Foundation. It's the Scully Learning Center Foundation Honorary Scholarship. It was awarded to Haley Masterson. This scholarship honors Paula and Bill Scully's legacy and their belief that true impact comes from serving where the need is greatest. We celebrate Haley for her commitment to inclusion, service, and uplifting others.
