Well, that was FUN! And we’re definitely doing it again!

Last night, we welcomed BG Birdie Bam to Ace Coffee Co. to teach us all how to play mahjong, and when I tell you she knows her stuff, I mean it! She’s not just any instructor. She’s actually headed to Las Vegas next week for more classes and competition!

It was fun, challenging, a little humbling… and exactly the kind of evening I love seeing happen at Ace.

One of my favorite things about hosting events like this is bringing experiences to our little corner of Kentucky that you might normally expect to find in bigger cities. There’s no reason we can’t have those same opportunities right here in our own community.

And judging by how many people left last night ordering their own mahjong sets and making plans to meet back up at the shop for game days, I think we may have started something!

So, who’s ready for another round?

Keep an eye out because we’ll be sharing more mahjong events and opportunities to play at Ace soon!

A huge thank-you to BG Birdie Bam for making last night such a great experience, and to everyone who came out and tried something new with us.

We’re opening a second Ace Coffee Co. location in Smiths Grove, Kentucky!

For years, my grandmother, Stella, owned a diner in Smiths Grove, and I spent nearly every summer there working alongside her. It’s where I learned to cook, where I learned the art of service, and where I first understood how something as simple as a cup of coffee could bring people together.

Every morning, the local farmers would gather around what everyone called the “coffee drinkers’ table” to discuss current events, share stories, and solve the world’s problems before most people had even started their day.

Smiths Grove has always held a special place in my heart. So when the opportunity came to bring Ace here, especially inside a historic building with a story of its own, it felt like things were coming full circle.

BUT this Ace will be a little different.

If you’ve ever visited a small, independent coffee shop tucked away on a street in Europe, where the focus is less on how many things are on the menu and more on how beautifully each one is made, that’s the feeling we’re bringing here.

A smaller footprint. A more curated experience. A deeper focus on the craft of coffee.

Think traditional macchiatos, true cortados, cappuccinos, espresso, authentic Italian affogatos, thoughtfully prepared lattes, and matcha. Hand-selected chocolates, beautiful pastries, mini quiches, a small grab-and-go selection, and a few of our favorite Ace retail pieces.

We’ll also offer canned cold beverages and cold brew, but our espresso menu will be intentionally focused on traditional hot preparations.

Not more. Just more intentional.

This entire venture is made possible through our collaboration with Indigo Fox, the event venue and pop-up studio from Foxhole in the Grove, who are bringing this beautiful space to life alongside us.

Together, we have an opportunity to create something that celebrates good coffee, creativity, community, and the history of a town that deserves all of those things.

We’re aiming to open the week before Thanksgiving, and we’ll be sharing plenty of behind-the-scenes updates as we bring everything together.

From my grandmother’s diner to a little coffee shop of my own, all these years later.

Smiths Grove, we’re coming home.

We completely transformed our retail space into a metaphysical shop to match our practical magic fall menu.

We’ve been collecting all the things for the curious, the spiritual, the ritual-loving, the spooky, and the people who just think this stuff is really damn cool.

Think ritual oils + candles, spell candles, mugwort, sage, incense, altar salts, herbs, crystals + geodes, abalone shells, lunar calendars, journals, cord-cutting kits, wish papers, tarot-inspired ritual candles, singing bowls, tuning forks, spooky antiques and more.

And because apparently we have no ability to stop once we start a theme, there are also skulls, fossils, golden beetles, bees, praying mantises, evil eyes and all sorts of strange little treasures tucked throughout.

Some of it is for ritual.
Some of it is for intention.
Some of it is for your home.
And some of it is simply because you saw it, loved it and decided it needed to come home with you.

We aren’t finished either! More is arriving every day.

Come wander around. Light a candle. Set an intention and buy the weird thing.

New Fall Hours

As we head into our slower fall and winter season, we're adjusting our weekday hours to better match when you all actually visit us.

Beginning (tomorrow) Monday, Sept., 28th, Ace will be open 7 AM–2 PM Monday through Thursday, with our regular weekend hours continuing.

This allows us to concentrate our team and resources during the hours we're busiest while continuing to give you the experience you expect from Ace.

🦇 Well… these didn’t even make it to the shelf.

Apparently y’all are just as weird as we are, and we LOVE it!

We brought in these real preserved bats, beautifully displayed in a case, because Ace has never been particularly interested in selling the same stuff you can find everywhere else. We like the unusual. The curious. The slightly creepy. The things that make you say, “Wait… is that a REAL bat?”

Yes. Yes, it is. 😂

They’re $120, and we currently have ONE LEFT because the others sold while we were pricing them.

We’ll be rolling out all of our fall + Halloween goods over the next couple of weeks, with plenty more oddities, cozy things, spooky things and things you absolutely did not come in for but will somehow leave with.

Consider this your warning. 🎃🦇🍂

Cold weather is coming, and while we LOVE seeing your faces at Ace… we also understand there comes a temperature where leaving the house becomes a hard no. 😂

So we’ve been stocking the shelves with all kinds of new goodies you won’t find at the local grocery store - especially the kind of comfort food that makes staying home feel like an actual plan.

Hot Pot Queen noodles, chili crisp, Dan Dan noodles, ramen, spicy little things that’ll warm you from the inside out… plus plenty more new pantry finds hitting the shelves.

Basically, come see us while you still have the will to put on real pants. Grab a coffee, stock up on something delicious, then go home, put on your pajamas and disappear under a blanket until spring.

We love you enough to understand. 🖤😂
