The Community Theatre The Community Theater is a historic theater in Catskill, NY showing a mix of first-run and classic cinema. Come see a movie!

Built in 1920, The Community Theatre has two movie screens and a vaudeville stage. We show the latest releases, repertory classics, and independent films, and are available for live performances. Ticket prices are as follows:
Adults - $11
Seniors (65+) - $8
Students, Teachers and Military - $8
Children - $8
Tuesdays - All tickets $5.00

On July 3, Greene County begins its America at 250 celebration, and we're joining in the fun! From 6–9 PM, enjoy sidewalk sales, outdoor cafés, exhibits, children’s activities, live music by the Second Chance Band, food trucks, and demonstrations from the local vendors. Then come by the theater at 9:15 for a trip back to America's bicentennial celebration courtesy of Richard Linklater's DAZED AND CONFUSED, or head upstairs for a 9:30 screening of the brand new Neon horror film LEVITICUS. It's a big week at Community this week! Steven Spielberg's epic DISCLOSURE DAY starts today, as well as this month's OFF THE BOARD winner NORBIT. Plus we'll have A. Next Monday, June 15, at 7:30pm, come see the true story of the sinking of the steamship General Slocum on June 15, 1904, which took the lives of over a thousand people, and until September 11 was the deadliest incident in NYC history. The disaster paralyzed the city, made international headlines, and was even referenced by James Joyce in his novel Ulysses. 122 years later (to the day!) we welcome Hudson Valley filmmaker Hank Linhart to present Fearful Visitation, followed by a postshow Q&A. We've got TWO great PRE-K MATINEES coming up this month. First, on Sunday June 14, we've got a great handpicked selection of new and classic STOP MOTION SHORTS! Then, on Sunday June 28, join us for the animated dinosaur classic THE LAND BEFORE TIME!

The Pre-K Matinee is a screening series for children aged 2-5 and their families that’s our answer to story time! We play short and long-form content specifically chosen to please young viewers and parents, and we keep the lights on low and the sound a little lower than usual to make the theater a more inviting experience for all. Plus we’ll have special concessions for children to enjoy! All tickets are just $5, and free under 2.
