Vintage J.L. Jacobs Cairo NY Glass Bottle – Early 1900s Bottling Company

James LeRoy Jacobs was a pioneering late-19th-century businessman in Cairo, NY, who founded a well-known local bottling plant.

The company, later operated as Whites Bottling Works, produced mineral water, seltzer, and flavored sodas. Today, his embossed antique bottles are highly sought-after collector's items.

The building was eventually absorbed by Cliquot Club in 1948 and is currently the site of Old Factory Brewing Company

The Prospect Park Hotel was a lavish 19th-century resort overlooking the Hudson River from Catskill, NY. Built in 1809 by Edwin Croswell and George Beach overlooking Catskill Landing and the Hudson River.
Known for its prime location and luxury amenities, it accommodated up to 400 guests.

The hotel burned on January 14, 1914.
The property was then acquired for the construction of St Jospeh's Catholic Seminary.

William Washington Van Vechten (1799–1845) was a member of a prominent early Dutch-American family in Catskill, Greene County, New York. The family has deep roots in the region dating back to the 17th century. Born in Catskill on January 13, 1799, he passed away in 1845. He was buried in the Catskill Village Cemetery.
