People sometimes assume that because I encourage entrepreneurship, I must be comfortable taking risks. Quite the opposite. 😂
I’ve always been extremely risk-averse. I’m the guy who plans, overplans and prepares for every worst-case scenario imaginable.
Yet despite all that preparation, life still found ways to deliver those worst-case scenarios, especially during my corporate career when layoffs reminded me that even a steady paycheck doesn’t guarantee financial security.
That’s when I began asking myself: If I’m willing to give 110% helping someone else’s company succeed, why wouldn’t I have that same confidence in my ability to provide for myself and my family?
Entrepreneurship can be intimidating. It requires sacrifice, discipline, hard work and tremendous confidence in yourself. But I’ve learned that even more important is having faith in God and His plans for your life.
That doesn’t mean abandoning preparation or financial responsibility. It means understanding that no amount of planning eliminates uncertainty.
Sometimes the greatest risk is believing someone else can guarantee your security.
If you’ve been considering starting a business or pursuing a dream, prepare wisely, believe in the abilities God gave you, and have the courage to take that leap of faith.
Success is never guaranteed, but the opportunity to build something of your own can make the challenges worthwhile.
And when it works, the juice is absolutely worth the squeeze. 🙏🏽💈
