More alumni successes! Tobias Duke ('22 music, '23 MBA) has been named the music director of Blackstone Valley Music's inaugural musical production, which is the legendary musical "Rent"!

Tobias is an in-demand collaborative pianist, music director, and vocalist who performs and teaches throughout the greater Boston region.

We're very proud! Bravo, Tobias!

We are so pleased to welcome Tobias Duke to our staff! Not only is he coming on as a vocal teacher but he is also Musical Director for our FIRST EVER musical theater program this summer! He is available Mondays and Thursdays. Call or reach out to us today to signup for a lesson!

Tobias graduated summa cm laude from Castleton University with a B.A. in Music and an A.S. in Business Administration, later earning his MBA with a focus on Leading Organizational Change. As a versatile music director, collaborative pianist, and educator, his work spans professional, community, and educational theater. His extensive credits include serving as music director and conductor for productions such as Guys & Dolls, Mamma Mia, The Sound of Music, and Grease. In addition to his role at BVM, Tobias serves as the Staff Accompanist for Concord-Carlisle High School and Director of Music Ministry at Immanuel Lutheran Church. With a background in arts administration and brand strategy, he brings a unique blend of creative vision and operational insight to his role as Theater Program Director. Tobias is dedicated to helping students of all skill levels find their voice and perform at their best through individualized instruction and collaborative storytelling.

Bravo to our very own Hannah Bowie (music education '26) on graduating this past May. We're very proud of all of Hannah's accomplishments and her time spent with us at Castleton. We're thrilled that she will be the new 9-12 band director at Hudson Falls High School next Fall!

We're always thrilled to hear about alumni successes once they graduate from Castleton! Check out this great article about our very own Vidur Katyal ('25, Theater Arts) and his internship with Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts.

In addition to his internship duties, he will performing in the musical "1776: The Musical" as Richard Henry Lee and in Shakespeare's masterpiece "Julius Caesar" as Brutus.

It's official! Our mainstage musical for Fall 2026 will be PIPPIN! Theater productions at Vermont State Castleton are open to all students on campus regardless of major. This includes both performers, crew, and musicians.
