Fan Expo Denver day 4/4. Looking a little bedraggled. I got to say hi to some cool people and sell a few books. I'm almost out of squirrels and there was more behind the scenes con drama to deal with but my novel is reaching the stage where I got to hear from someone I don't know who was excited to see I was coming. She came to get her own copy after borrowing a friend's, because she "loved everything about it." Read it in one day and told me about how it helped her see how she could navigate a similar emotional journey in her own life. Basically a writer's dream come true. 💙💛🧡

3" mini portrait, watercolor. I love doing these. I feel like I get to know a tiny little bit of a person I'll never meet in this life, and then feel a little tiny bit of what it must mean to have lost them. I like to think these give their loved ones one more way to keep them nearby.
