Frosted Canyons:
Back when I taught photography, I’d tell my students to get out, explore, and don’t look, but SEE things from a different angle. That’s when you have a shot at making the ordinary appear ‘extraordinary’.
Fast forward to this past Sunday morning’s frost, and the extraordinary came to us. Man was it a cold morning, but the accumulating frost, coating edges of anything facing north, made it a memorable 6am photo shoot (and a ‘Thank You’ to the owl hooting across the valley). Props to my wife, who had a fresh pot of hot coffee brewed up, then a nap.

Remembering the good times while painting Peyton Manning on a denim jacket for the director of social meda at the Denver Broncos. Been a while since they've made the playoffs, but Broncos Country is optimistic of an upward trajectory as Sean Payton aligns the troops. GO BRONCOS!

'Thank you' to the awesome creatives at Castle Rock Middle School! It was a great volunteer experience, getting back to school and guiding this group of budding artists to a beautiful, space-enhancing mural. These kids remained coachable and provided that (almost forgotten in retirement) shot of energy that comes with watching young minds lose themselves in a creative space. Well done, team!

Excited to help my sister’s PR firm with a marketing push for her two wonderful clients, and . Yes, both restaurants serve great meals, but you better save room for the cinnamon rolls. A must visit if in northern CO!

New life for a dead branch!
Back at it experimenting with hand-made paper, LED lights, and branches recently cleared for a new sidewalk in my neighborhood. A really fun process that’s just beginning. Still a few kinks to work out, but these wall sculpture/sconces offer a ton of potential for creative exploration. Early feedback suggests a warmer light cast from behind. Agree? Let me know in comments.

Anyone remember this Christmas gift from ? Voted the dunk of the year.
He’s been nothing but a selfless team player for the as they redefine the league’s formula for a championship contender, growing it from the ground up! I’m all in with this team. Maybe a ._.murray denim jacket next?

It finally sunk in the other night when the raised the banner. I remember my dad taking me to a game at the Coliseum in the early 70s when they were called the Denver Rockets. Now this!Congratulations to an organization that did it the right way. A lesson in patience, but it finally paid off!
Not sure why I waited so long to channel my inner creative, but it seems to make sense to celebrate this amazing team the most sincere way I know how. Ready for a repeat? Let’s go!!

Opposites attract:
I decided to move away from big moves with large brushes and let shapes and textures play out in this week-long doodle. Pencil, pen & ink, and a watery brush were all that was needed. A refreshing return to simplicity and reactionary art. More to come…….

As much of a sci-fi buff as I am, it took a commission to finally paint a space scene. This 6’x4’ canvas was completed with exterior house paint for durability. It will go up in a 6 year old space-lover’s bedroom.

Tons of fun blending colors to create a nebulae system, complete with a newly formed planet. Tempted to include a small Starship Enterprise, but I doubt a 6 year old even knows who James T Kirk is.
