2026 SYSP Summer Youth Program Announcement

Now Accepting Applications – LLBO Summer Youth Employment Program

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe Workforce Development Division is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Summer Youth Employment Program.

Funded through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Supplemental Youth Services Program (SYSP), the LLBO summer youth employment program provides eligible youth and young adults with paid work experience opportunities designed to develop job skills, explore career pathways, and prepare participants for future employment and training opportunities.

This year's program will provide hands-on work experience in several of the Reservation’s most in-demand industries, including:
• Healthcare and Social Assistance
• Public Administration
• Arts, Recreation, and Entertainment
• Transportation and Warehousing
• Construction
• Accommodation and Food Services

Participants will have the opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience, build professional skills, and learn about careers that support the economic growth and workforce needs of the Leech Lake Reservation and surrounding communities.

🎉 Welcome Our 2026 Summer Interns! 🎉
Leech Lake Gaming Division is proud to welcome Gabrielle Fineday and Jamaal Baird to our 2026 Summer Internship Program.
Gabrielle and Jamaal are both pursuing Bachelor's Degrees in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. Gabrielle attends Bemidji State University, while Jamaal is studying at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Throughout the summer, Gabrielle and Jamaal will gain valuable hands-on experience across several areas of the Gaming Division, including Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting, and Administration. This opportunity will help them build professional skills, expand their knowledge, and gain a deeper understanding of our organization.
We are committed to supporting students through meaningful learning experiences and are excited to see the contributions Gabrielle and Jamaal will make during their time with us.

🌟 Welcome to Our 2026 Summer Youth Program! 🌟
Today, approximately 25 youth participants from across our Leech Lake Gaming casino properties came together for Orientation Day, kicking off their six-week summer employment experience.
Throughout the program, participants will take part in valuable trainings, including Customer Service, Financial Literacy, Civics, CPR, and Safety, while gaining hands-on work experience and professional skills.
We are excited to support their growth and look forward to a successful summer ahead!
