🏔️🌲 Great Blue Heron Mural 🌲🏔️

We adjusted our sleep schedule for this project, and I learned that painting mountain reflections on water is really tricky when you’re sitting on a tiny ledge 12 feet off the ground! Every day is an adventure when you’re painting murals! 🩵

I would like to throw out a massive thank you to everyone who came out to the Pybus Public Market Art Lovers’ Sunday to support the arts!!! THANK YOU! I was so happy to see ALL of the amazing artists selling their work and getting recognition and appreciation for their skills, and I was also so happy to see the community come together to support local artists! 💛

This event is so dear to my heart since it’s what gave me a jumpstart last year into being a full time artist. I cried when I sold my first painting AGAIN this year (and was equally as shocked and grateful and ecstatic with all the other paintings I sold), and none of it would be possible without Pybus Market and my teammates on the Pybus Art Committee - and Joann Walkers love of the arts - I mean I could go on and on. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to all staff, visitors, buyers, and friends and family involved. I love you, and am so grateful for all of you. 💛💛💛

🎨 USING OIL PAINTS for the first time in… 20 years?! My impatience with dry time and wonder/awe with the smooth blending has me feeling all sorts of mixed emotions 🥴

this painting is definitely not done (just over here watching it dry), but my final verdict is that I love painting with this strange silky fume-y goodness 😍

Baby, it’s still cold outside 🥶 and paint does NOT like to get cold! Picking the warmest time of day to paint and using proper surface preparation made this mural job a literal and figurative breeze!! Plus, listening to music that makes you dance all day and having a paint partner that makes you laugh constantly is definitely key. Another fun mural adventure down! ✅ 🎨
