Let me say something plainly.

Rehabilitation is not a competition.

I deal with death. I deal with animals that are suffering. I deal with cases that keep me awake at night, losses that break my heart, and the responsibility of trying to save lives when sometimes, despite everything I do, I can’t.

So when other rehabbers choose to attack me anonymously, refuse to work with me, or try to tear me down because they don’t like how successful I am, I have one thing to say:

Stop.

If your energy is going toward watching what I’m doing, comparing yourself to me, trying to undermine me, or making anonymous attacks, then your priorities are in the wrong place.

Focus on the animals.

There is no trophy for being the ā€œbestā€ rehabber. There is no prize for being the only person who gets recognition. Every animal we save matters. Every life we lose matters. And the goal should be helping as many animals as possible—not competing over who gets the credit.

I will continue to work hard.
I will continue to learn.
I will continue to save the animals I can.
I will continue to celebrate the successes and grieve the losses.

And I will not make myself smaller because someone else is threatened by what I do.

If you don’t want to work with me, that’s your choice. If you don’t like me, that’s your choice too.

But attacking me anonymously, spreading negativity, or trying to sabotage another rehabber helps zero animals.

So instead of worrying about me, go save something.

That is what we’re supposed to be here for.

To the people who genuinely support me, encourage me, and understand the reality of this work: thank you. You have no idea how much that support means, especially on the days when this work is heartbreaking.

I’m going to keep doing what I came here to do.

The animals come first. Always. šŸ–¤

Well it’s our ā€œbirthday weekā€ again. šŸ˜… 39 this year and somedays it’s hard to believe there could be 39 more birthdays for me without my mom. I’m blessed to have had the time I did. Evelyn goes back to school on my actual birthday next Monday, but my dad and I can still celebrate our birthdays together on his birthday, the 20th! Make sure you come see Clay and I at Lazy Daze. My mom was always so proud I was a part of the town’s festivities. Here’s my sanctuary Amazon list if anyone would like to donate for my birthday! Love you all. https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3U579OEMCQYNF?ref_=wl_share
