Understanding Piercing Jewelry: Threadless vs. Threaded

This is why professionals recommend threadless and internally threaded jewelry. đź–¤

In this video, we break down how threadless jewelry uses tension to stay in place for easy changes, and why internally threaded jewelry is better for healing because the smooth exterior protects your piercing.

Styles like butterfly backs and externally threaded posts can cause irritation and are harder to maintain.

Huge shoutout to our jewelry specialist Kaitlin for sitting down with us to explain the difference between these types of jewelry đź–¤

Some recent tattoos done by our artists at Odyssey Art Collective đź’«

-
Session 2 of An Egyptian inspired realism leg sleeve featuring a divine female portrait, pyramids, a royal cobra and dual sculptural faces.
The rich warm tones, dramatic contrast, and seamless storytelling bring this ancient mythology- inspired piece to life.

Sarah worked with her client to compose a nature inspired tattoo that flowed perfectly with the arm by free drawing each element.
Sarah’s painterly technique was used throughout the piece to create something truly beautiful and one of a kind.

Created an elegant design with featuring a two headed heron, abstract elements, and his signature circle- all individual elements, but deliberately placed to flow with his clients arm.

Alexis’s tattoo beautifully blends organic and mechanical elements into a soft cyberpunk inspired portrait. Designed and executed at NY Empire tattoo expo 🙌🏽

Designed an incredible arm sleeve coverup for his client, featuring a captivating portrait of a girl smoking a cigarette. The coverup incorporates floral elements that resemble shattered stained glass, while an intertwining snake adorns the lower forearm.

Completed his second session of an incredible arm sleeve featuring an angel emerging from a tangle of demons below. The shading, detail and precision of this piece is inspiring and we can’t wait to see it completed.

Created an original design of the lion from the Wizard of Oz. Carlos never fails to blow us away with his use of color, shading, and dynamic composition. The vibrant hues and intricate details bring the piece to life, capturing both its courage and vulnerability.

Completed this incredible arm sleeve after 3 sessions with his client. His use of classical art techniques with modern graffiti makes this piece super impactful and stand out from across the room.

We love seeing the variety of styles our artists create. What style speaks to you the most? Let us know in the comments đź–¤

Week 2 of expanding our tattoo studio 🔨
This week started with us putting up new walls throughout the space to divide the tattooing area... only to discover that the subfloor underneath was rotten and needed to be completely ripped out.
As frustrating as it was to tear down walls we had just built, we’re grateful we caught the issue when we did. The floors likely wouldn’t have been able to support the weight of the concrete and epoxy we originally planned to install, which could have caused much bigger problems down the road.
We knew this renovation wouldn’t be easy, but we’re taking every obstacle as it comes and continuing to push forward.
Thank you for following along as we build our dream studio from the ground up. Your support means the world to us.
Stick around to see our progress in Week 3 đź–¤
