We are a 4-part acapella group with both men's and mixed (men's & women's) choruses that take pride in great vocals sung in the barbershop style. Love to sing?

Join us. Love to hear great music? Hire us for a performance, or attend our concert. Oak City Sound selects music from a catalog of popular songs from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and now, as well as famous musicals and movies. We will always stay true to our identity of barbershop, however we will venture out to works of contemporary a cappella, choral and doo-wop to reach a greater audience in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, and Cary areas.

We welcomed eight guests to our last rehearsal, including four members of a high school quartet who joined us and performed two songs. We also rehearsed patriotic music for our upcoming performance at the Springmoor retirement community. It was a great evening, and guests help make it even more enjoyable—come join us!
Here is our schedule for the next few weeks:
• Monday, May 18th: Performance at the Springmoor retirement community
• Monday, May 25th: No rehearsal for Memorial Day
• Monday, June 1st: Regular rehearsal
• Monday, June 8th: Regular rehearsal
• Friday, June 12th: Performance at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in downtown Apex, NC, at 7:30pm. Tickets are available on our website (www.oakcitysound.org) or at https://www.oakcitysound.org/SpringShow2026.

20 singers from the Oak City Sound Chorus performed for nurses at Rex Hospital last night, delivering cookies and singing a few songs at each station. We value the daily efforts of these healthcare workers and hope our gesture showed our appreciation.

We held our annual Holiday Concert on Tuesday evening, at the Halle Cultural Arts Center of Apex with a sold out house and nearly 50 singers on stage!
