Looking for a great way to start your summer. Come see "First Kisses", written by Jay D. Hanagan, at Stone's Throw Dinner Theatre. This heart-warming tale follows the lives of Mary and John from their first encounter/kiss at age 11 through their golden years at age 72. 🎭🌟Hey kids and parents, we have BIG news- Stone's Throw's Summer Kids Camp is back!

We are beyond excited to bring back this beloved workshop that meant so much to our former theatre manager and Kids Camp pioneer, Tom Brown. Tom believed there was nothing more important than getting young people into the theatre to create, imagine, laugh and most importantly... to have fun! 😎

🌞This summer, campers will journey into the Hundred Acre Wood as we create a Winnie the Pooh-inspired production together! 🍯 From acting and theatre games to creativity and teamwork, campers will experience all the fun that goes into putting on a show in a welcoming and encouraging environment.🎬

🐻 Open to students entering 1st-6th grade

🎭Tons of theatre fun, new friendships and unforgettable memories included too!

This workshop will be held July 6-10 and will conclude with a very special performance on Friday, July 10 at 6 PM, prepared especially for you by our certified instructors and students.

Teri Mills as “Verna” -- Teri made her debut at Stone’s Throw in our December 2025 production of “Christmas Belles. She followed that with a performance in “Leona, Love Thy Neighbor, Too” and is now making her third appearance on our stage. A lover of theatre she spent many years assisting teenagers with their theatrical endeavors.

Stone's Throw will hold open auditions on Monday, May 4th and Tuesday, May 5th beginning at 6:30 pm for our June production of "First Kisses", written by Jay D. Hanagan. Director Ann Grace Lile is looking to cast 8 actors of various ages.

1 female/1 male – age 10-12
1 female/1 male – age late teens to early/mid-20s
1 female/1male – age early/mid- 30s to early/mid- 50s
1 female/1 male – age early/mid- 70s

Children's auditions will be at 6:30 pm
Adult auditions will begin at 7:00 pm

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script.

Performance Dates: June 19-21 & 26-28

Synopsis
In this multi-prize-winning love story, we follow the lives of Mary and John as they grow up and grow old together from the age of eleven to seventy-two. It starts with their first kiss when John's hamster dies, and continues through all their joys and losses, bad dresses and old girlfriends, raising teenagers and becoming grandparents.

Hailey Balcom as “Bethany” -- A recent graduate of Webb City High School, Hailey is appearing in back-to-back productions here at Stone’s Throw. She previously appeared as “CSI Agent” and “Madison Monroe (TV news reporter)” in our March production of “Murder for Dummies”. She got the theatre “bug” while attending our kid’s camp many years ago and is now excited to be on stage as an adult.

Michael Dietz as “Floyd” -- This is Michael’s fourth appearance on the Stone’s Throw stage, having debuted in our June 2023 production of “Love, S*x and the I.R.S.”. Michael has also been in productions with Joplin Little Theatre including “Grease”. He lists “Leslie” in “Love, S*x and the I.R.S.” and “Eugene” in “Grease” as two of his favorite roles. When not directly involved in a production, Michael volunteers as a server in the dining room.

Zach Bradley as “Chance” -- Zach has become a regular on the Stone’s Throw stage having appeared in more than a dozen shows thus far. He is a true theatre veteran who has appeared in 25+ shows throughout the area. His most recent appearance at Stone’s Throw was as “Dub Dubberly” in our December 2025 production of “Christmas Belles”.
