This painting is one I created some time ago, and itās always felt like it was never quite finished. Every time I looked at it, I knew there was something more it neededābut I couldnāt see exactly what.
Lately, Iāve been looking at it with fresh eyes, and it reminds me of the lush beauty and vibrant colors of Jamaica. And for the first time, I know what it needs.
Sometimes a painting just needs time. As artists grow, we notice things we couldnāt see before. What once seemed incomplete suddenly becomes clear, and weāre able to bring the vision to life in a new way.
The more I think about it, the more Iām reminded that God works that way in us too. He is never finished with us. He patiently shapes us, refines us, and adds layer upon layer of grace, beauty, and purpose in His perfect timing.
As I return this piece to the easel, Iām reminded of the promise in Philippians 1:6: āHe who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.ā
Iām excited to see where this painting goes from hereāand grateful that God isnāt finished with any of us yet. ā¤ļø
