Well I bought it and I love it. I definitely wouldn't trust it with my life and wouldn't hire an engineer who couldn't run without it. But as an engineer who has mixed more than a few messes with a guy job EQ I'm glad to be able to EQ for tone rather than a talking head standing with a lav in front of my PA and whispering.

So I was booked to run the acoustic stage at an arts festival but rain killed my stage and I was bumped to an overqualified stage hand for the main stage. Everything was pretty standard till this kick drum was put on stage. We had been using a Shure Beta91a all day but in the interest of trying we dropped a Sennheiser e904 on it so we wouldn't have to go grab a stand or fish the Beta52 out of the case. It helps that the drums were well tuned but this actually sounded pretty sick and none of us were mad about it.

When your engineer gets bored and starts pulling heat out of the mic cases. I have a pile of e604's and my second keeps more than enough VBeat mics here at the venue but sometimes when you know the drummer can hit the drums and not the mics you throw some condensers on the toms for the fun of it.

Earlier in the month I was booked onto a show running FOH for a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band. I was offered a show with a different Skynyrd tribute I couldn't take. Then here I am running monitors for yet another Skynyrd tribute. I can't say I'm mad because the quality of musicians needed for a working tribute like this make the work easy.
