WOW! We are still basking in the glow of this past weekend, where y’all came out with so much love and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

We sang, danced and ate together. We returned songs to the land for the first time in 200 years. And, an amazing lineup of artists and performers brought beauty, healing and joy to the amphitheater.

Thank you to our performer line up Crystal Wahpepah False Rhythms Valarie Kaur One Way Sky Bobby Sanchez Xiuhtezcatl Tonatiuh. And to our Wášiw singers and dancers, an amazing vendor line up of artists and crafters, our chefs and food vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and all who came out. Together we make it right!

T’anu ʔIšɨmiʔ felt like the beginning of something much larger than any one event, a community rooted in relationship, trust, and a shared commitment to the healing of Da ow aga (Lake Tahoe) and all who call her home.

We’ll share more reflections and what’s next in the coming weeks, but for now, thanks for joining us at T’anu ʔIšɨmiʔ. 💛

Crystal Wahpepah is speaking today at T’anu ʔIšɨmiʔ. Her new cookbook, A Feather and A Fork, is an extraordinary cookbook that weaves powerful storytelling with 125 intertribal recipes to heal our bodies and restore our foodways.

Healing happens in relationship, with each other, with the land, and all that sustains us.

Crystal will also be at Mountain Lotus Yoga on Sunday for a book talk and signing from 12-1:30!

Welcome! We’re glad you’re here, and we hope you’ll join us for T’anu ʔIšɨmiʔ. Be a part of this historic moment, bringing community together for music, celebration and stewardship for Dá’aw’ága’. Lake back and land back!

Our prayer for this event, in the words of Benny Fillmore, Wášiw-šiw Land Trust Board Member, “we are hoping to share with the people of Truckee and this area here, gathering with music, and song, and language. We want to share with our partners and relatives and friends, and bring our children and elders into the future in a good way and enjoy a good day, sharing the beatuy of this place. And wishing good things for those traveling and attending.” 💗
