I've been embossing an eye lexicon onto brass. Here are 8 out of more than 80 embossed eye glyphs - each one is 2X2 inches and will form a wearable sculpture once they are joined together. More on that soon...👁🧿 @ Carrizozo, New Mexico

Huge thanks to - an online periodical connecting the art scenes in Greece and the US - for this feature about my art. Peri-Technes founder Tiffany M. Apostolou is an art researcher at Gagosian Gallery, NY, and somehow also finds time to run this curatorial project on the side. 💪 Thanks Tiffany for taking an interest in my work on Greek votives, and in my art practice more broadly! ✨🙏 Thanks also to for hosting my 2019 residency in Athens!

A few more scenes from Carrizozo, a railroad town built in 1898. I've been loving the colors and textures of the architecture here. The turquoise/siena building is the old town hotel, which transformed into his incredible wood shop. The red building is the studio space and apartment I'm sharing with , courtesy of the art residency. The next pic is a house painted by , and the final image is the old town bar Yucca which has also been transformed into an art studio space. Super inspiring 🌵 @ Carrizozo, New Mexico

Visit to a petroglyph site near Carrizozo, NM with over 20,000 amazing rock drawings from 600+ years ago. The glyphs were everywhere, it was the best kind of treasure hunt with @ Three Rivers Petroglyph Site

I've made it out West with to the town of Carrizozo in southern New Mexico, where we will be doing an artist residency for the month of April. Already feeling really inspired by the architecture and desert horizon lines. Huge thanks to and for bringing us out here. @ Carrizozo, New Mexico

Back when I lived right on the East River, thanks for the pic 🖤
My building at the time had a French bakery in the basement that made pastries from 10 pm-4 am for all the cafés in the area. I spent a lot of late nights eating boxes of free croissants and quiches on the pier with friends - very happy memories.

An engraving by English botanist and photographer Anna Atkins, for Lamarck's 'Genera of Shells' in 1823. Anna's father was a chemist and mineralogist, and mentored her in science at a time when few women entered the field. Her story and these drawings are inspiring to me, as I was also raised and mentored by a scientist father with an obsessive interest in shells. The photo here (2nd image) shows just one small part of my dad's massive shell collection in San Francisco, which was a defining part of my childhood and continues to influence me.

A few more photos from my Greek votive workshop, including a window display of my hand-drawn clothing and visual lexicons, at in January 2020. The workshop offered an experiential window into my research on Greek votives and visual codes, and some of my own drawings, prints, textiles, and votives were on display for context and inspiration. Huge thanks to everyone who came out for the lovely evening, and to for being such ideal collaborators.

A year ago in January 2020 I was honored to give a workshop on Greek votive offerings, in collaboration with at their gorgeous space in downtown Manhattan. Greek votives (or τάματα) are engraved metal plaques used to pray or give thanks for healing, and in this workshop we created personalized copper τάματα based on wishes for the New Year. We then hung our offerings together in a communal ritual. The whole evening felt warm and joyful, a stark contrast from the Covid lockdown that happened 1 month later. Here's hoping that in-person workshops and events can happen once again this year ✨

I've been painting arches and thinking about the arch as symbol: for transition, initiation, balance, tension, and support. From a deck of mental architectures I'm working on. . . . . . .
Thanks for inspiring me 🖤
