‼ IMPORTANT ‼

The lodge and retail will be closing at 3 pm today in lieu of the below updates. 🛍

⚠ Due to the lack of snow and the rain forecast for tomorrow, we have decided to put away our skis for the season. It is never easy for us to say goodbye, as it was a great winter!! However, TODAY will be our LAST day open for the season. We wish we had better news to share! As of tomorrow, Monday the 16th, the lodge will be closed for the season.

Today will be the last day for rentals and last-minute shopping. We still have a few skidda products left and lots of new skis ready for new homes.

☀We have limited trails open today, but they look great. Enjoy a Sunday ski! This could be our last groom for a while. It's been a fantastic winter anyway; we hate to see it end so quickly. Warming Hut to halfway up Vista, Snowbrook to the far intersection of Sunnybreeze, and the short section of Moose Pond Loop from Warming Hut to Snowbrook has been groomed. With the lack of snow depth, we are unable to set classic tracks. There is a fire in the warming hut. 🔥

While the lodge itself will be closed, if we receive a few inches or more of snow, groomers will likely roll it out with a snowmobile. The trails will remain open if they are firm; however, if they are soft and have mud, we ask that everyone stay off of them.

Happy Saturday Nordic friends!

☃ We received a few inches of snow this morning, and it looks beautiful. What we have open will be best enjoyed on skate skis on this lovely Saturday. Temps will be calling for mid to high 30's with a wind chill bringing that feels like down to the low 30's and 🌥 mostly.

This fresh snow will be our double-edged sword today. It helped freshen up what ice Sterling was able to grind out yesterday. It has not been enough to open the trails that we lost previously. ⚠️ That rain and warm temperatures turned the remaining snow into sheer ice that now sits under two inches of snow in many spots.

‼️ Much of our network will remain closed for safety. The middle to upper section of Vista is a good example. I groomed from the top down and exposed ice and gravel. Be aware‼️

⚠️ We lost the snow on the bridge heading to the narrow gauge, so we are NOT able to groom that anymore

🌲Snowshoe trails are closed until we get some more snow to make them safe to travel again. The red trail might reopen this afternoon; all others will wait for more snow. If you are interested in snowshoeing this morning, we can rent a pair to explore the Maine Huts & Trails system across the street 🎒

The ice rink is closed for the season. It was truly a wonderful season for the ice, and we cannot wait to see some of our plans come to life next season!

🔥 The lodge and retail store are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today. We still have some hot sales going on and lots of new skis ready to go out to some lovely new homes.

☕️🫎 The Bull Moose Café is officially CLOSED for the season. What was your favorite menu item this year? We all know mine was the bacon jam jacket potato 😅

Good Morning!

☀️ The sun is shining, and it is looking like a brisk bluebird day today. Temps are going to reach a high of 32 with a mild breeze bringing that feels like down a little bit. Sterling got the groomer out this morning for a long, slow grind on all that firm ice. After several days of warming and freezing mixed with rain, our network has lost most groomable material. I am grinding out the Warming Hut to the first half of Vista. Ice is present under spots; please use caution. This is ground ice, so a snow dust top over hard pack. No classic tracks will be set today.

⚠️ Everything not groomed will remain CLOSED for safety until it softens enough. Those not groomed trails will have bear patches when it warms back up. We lost the snow on the bridge heading to the narrow gauge, so we are NOT able to groom that anymore ⚠️

‼️ Reminder, the network is not open to fat biking. Check the Nordic Pulse page linked below for any updates as the week progresses. Think before you sink, and please respect the trail closures‼️

Good morning Nordic friends,

It is not easy to admit we must keep the trails closed again today for everyone's safety. Temperatures were supposed to warm up, but they are now beginning to drop. Some parts of the trails look like good spring skiing; however, they have some pretty large, dangerous icy patches. With temperatures staying around freezing and dropping, any wet surfaces will glaze over with ice. If you would like to rent snowshoes and go check out the Narrow Gauge pathway or Reed Brook Falls. Please note that the conditions in these locations will also be variable and likely to have some bare spots as well.

⚠️ The trails are CLOSED to ALL traffic, including walking, snowshoeing, and Fat Biking. Dogs are loved by all who work here, but are still not permitted on the trail still. Thank you all for understanding and hanging in there with us to see if Mother Nature has some more snow to give us ⚠️

🔥 The lodge and retail store are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today. We still have some hot sales going on and lots of new skis ready to go out to some lovely new homes.

Good morning Nordic friends,

With standing water and temperatures between 30 and 32 degrees, we're closing the network to keep everyone safe. We are going to check on the Narrow Gauge network shortly to see how it is holding up. We were really hoping for snow this morning. However, Mother Nature had other plans and gave us the other kind of precipitation that we don't like to talk about during winter. With the combo of the precipitation and temperatures, we are seeing glazing on the trail network.

⚠️ The trails are CLOSED to ALL traffic, including walking, snowshoeing, and Fat Biking. If you are interested in getting outside today, please check Nordic Pulse for the Narrow Gauge update and drive over to one of the three parking lots available to access the trails. ⚠️

🔥 The lodge and retail store are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today. We still have some hot sales going on and lots of new skis ready to go out to some lovely new homes. We have a cribbage board, but our deck of cards has gone missing, so bring your own cards and play by the fire!

Get your feeders out, grab some cozy blankets, and hot drinks, because it will be a great few days to observe spring coming through. All of our little critters are everywhere. A great day for some backyard bird watching for sure!

The ice rink remains CLOSED and done for the season. It was truly a wonderful season for the ice, and cannot wait for some of our plans next season!

Good morning Nordic friends,

It feels a bit early for spring skiing gang, but it's here! Due to the warm weather, our grooming team did not groom last night. We understand this can be frustrating! To put it into perspective, if we put machines on this warm water saturated snow, it compresses it and it melts out faster. If it freezes right after we groom, it turns to a giant sheet of ice! By leaving it untouched until cooler temps return, our team is able to grind it up and work in the snow underneath to create a safer and more desired skiable surface!

⚠️Please watch for possible spring condition hazards as temperatures rise to the low 60's with sun this afternoon. Be aware of thinning spots at the top of East and West and outer Snowbrook. Trails will become a mashed potato consistency by mid-day. Streams and standing water will also be opening up, so be cautious on your adventure. Winds have left some small debris on the trails as well.

We will keep you posted on grooming options as we watch the temperatures this week. Keep an eye on Nordic Pulse for all updates you need to know!

❄️Although our ice rink is closed for the season, we still have skiing and snowshoeing available! At this point, with the warmer weather, we recommend snowshoeing for an activity! Stop by the retail store and get all updated trail information from our amazing team! Some trails may have areas of slush and standing water. The Outdoor Center team will be checking them regularly. They will be your go to for all updated info!

‼️As a reminder, the Bull Moose Cafe will be closed this week, reopening on Saturday!!!‼️

03/09/2026

Good morning,

It’s hard to believe we had temperatures in the single digits less than a week ago, and yesterday we almost hit 60°! This stretch of warm weather sure has us looking forward to spring and warmer weather, but we already are mourning the snow we have lost in the past few days. Don’t give up just yet, we see a lot of snow here and there in the forecast over the next few weeks!!

🧊⛸️Let’s talk current conditions and grooming plans. As mentioned in previous posts, we have lost our ice rink for the season. All of those bitter cold days and nights made for perfect ice conditions! We hope you had a chance to come out and skate this year. Thank you for joining us! Next winter we will have more skate night events! We have some great ideas coming your way!

❄️We lost a decent amount of our snow pack depth over the last few days with the warm temps. Don’t be discouraged though, our snow coverage on the network is still good!! You will find spring like conditions in some areas with thinning spots, small fallen debris from recent wind, large patches of dirty snow, and a rogue exposed rock or two. East and West Branch, as well as outer Snowbrook, have some of these conditions, so be cautious as you are moving along the network.

⚠️ Because of these much warmer temps, our grooming team will not be grooming over the next few days.⚠️ We see colder temperatures arriving for the weekend; we will keep you posted on our grooming schedule once they return! Keep an eye on Nordic Pulse for everything you need to know from our grooming team!

Snowshoeing is going to be our recommended activity for today! Trails have great coverage, and are nice and soft! The yellow trail may have some standing water in places, so we recommend stopping in the retail store to speak to the team and get all the latest trail info.

‼️The Bull Moose Cafe will be closed this week, reopening on Saturday!‼️

🏁🏁Lastly, a huge THANK YOU to everybody that participated in the Inferno race yesterday! We are so happy to bring this fun event back, and even happier that we had a total of 44 racers in our first year! It was a fun day on the trails and in the lodge. Thank you for making it all possible, we couldn’t do it without you! Looking forward to next year already! Thank you to all of the volunteers who took the time out of their day to join us. Grateful for you all!🏁🏁

The lodge and retail store will be open from 9 AM till 4 PM today. Come and enjoy some late season spring skiing with us🙂

Good morning Nordic Friends,

We are going to see temperatures warming quickly today with showers throughout the morning, but no more afternoon showers in the forecast, woohoo! ⚠️ No grooming was done last night due to warming temperatures; our heavy equipment would compact the warming snow base, causing it to degrade faster. It is looking like the showers should be done by 11am; the higher up in the network you are, the higher the chance of variable conditions. Expect some hard-packed icy spots until the warmer temperatures show up to the party. Ski responsibly and in control. Narrow Gauge will be a great way to start the day, get some warm-up laps in, then pop back over for some afternoon spring skiing. Check back this afternoon for staff updates on trail conditions, as they will be hitting the trails as soon as the dreaded R word stops.

⛸⚠️ The ice rink is CLOSED. Yesterday was likely the last day for it. We had an amazing season on it and could not be happier with how well it held up!

🌲 Snowshoe trails. Please use caution out on snowshoe trails, as they are thinning pretty quickly in the bog and stream crossing sections. Trails like Blue, Yellow & Orange are going to have a lot of water exposure and bare spots. Best trails are likely to be Red and Green right now.

🔥 The lodge and retail store are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today. We still have some hot deals going on you do not want to sleep on!

Happy Friday Nordic Friends!

Groomer Bill loves to get out and put the time in to make fresh corduroy on the tranquil trail network for you all. He hit most of our favorite trails last night, giving us a clean start to the weekend! Please note we are in spring skiing and there are many trails marked with caution as we do have some exposures and late season hazards. Trail favs & skiing great still include Warming Hut to Vista and one of my favorite trails, Seven Bridges. Ski in control and responsibly. Please use extra caution if venturing off freshly groomed trails. Today is a high of 30 and mostly cloudy. Check Nordic Pulse, linked below, for the detailed grooming report

🧊⚠️ The ice rink will be on assessment this morning. Check back around 10:30/11am for conditions update. Thankfully, temps dropped below freezing, and we are starting with nice cloud coverage. Keep your fingers crossed, we can get the Zamboni out of the garage at least once more before the big warm up ⚠️⛸

🌲Snowshoe trails! The trails are still in good condition, and the recent snowfall is amazing; however, it is hiding a few bare spots. Use caution and check in with staff before going out on your epic adventures. As the snow pack continues to shrink, please remember to look ahead for your next blaze to stay on trail. The Orange, Yellow, and Blue trails are on caution because the little stream crossings and boulders are becoming increasingly exposed.

🏁‼️The INFERNO RACE!!! We are so excited to host the Inferno again, this Sunday, March 8th. There are still spots left, but registration closes online today at 12:00pm. There will be an updated post this afternoon with some further details. Prizes will be awarded to the first-place winner AND the best-dressed! Costumes are highly encouraged, and you will potentially be rewarded for your efforts. Click the link below for additional details and registration 🏁‼️

☕️🫎🔥 The lodge and retail store are open from 9 AM to 4 PM today. The café will open at 10 am today with all sorts of delicious lunch options! Hurry in and try the jacket potatoes before the season's end; they are the perfect carb load leading up to this weekend's Inferno Race! Grab a fresh-brewed latte from Linda and have a seat with the best view of the mountain (without any effort!) on the deck and try her newest cookie creation!
