Day 2 of Cary Art Daze! After a 4am start yesterday, I got a good night’s rest and am ready for another great day. We’ve been blessed with beautiful weather and large crowds. We didn’t quite escape the humidity because we’re still in the south after all, but this show is set amongst the trees and feels like we’re in a park. It’s a lovely show to stroll and take your time looking at all of the beautiful things. Artists and come from NY, TX, and all over. I wish every market had this kind of feel🤍.

Just a PSA that the Town of Wrightsville Beach farmer’s market is EVERY Monday through December from 8-1. Support your local farmers and fishermen, grab a coffee and fresh baked goods, all while browsing artisan made goods. And you can walk the loop with your bestie while you’re at it. See you there!

Prototype for seaweed bowls that made it out of the last firing before I moved. These are a larger pasta or entree bowl made with the impression of a seaweed foraged along the coast. Currently one of my faves. Looking forward to getting back in the studio soon, new digs are almost put back together.

Morning light starting us off right at Wrightsville Beach. Still a bit hot and humid but at least we got dried out from Saturday’s market deluge. Taking a moment today to pause and be thankful for what I have. Grateful another vase found its new home. It’s going to be another busy week over here with the final push getting the studio moved and set up. My finger with the stitches is almost closed up and I’m so looking forward to getting in the ocean again🌊

This is my newest trough shape using a mold I made from an old surfboard. This piece has repeated scallop shell impressions. I think it would be a great display piece for your shells, but there are other uses😊. In other news, I’m settling into my new digs and starting to get work done on shed improvements for my new pottery studio. I’ll hopefully be moving into the new studio by the end of the month, so things are still pretty busy over here. My Dad is in town, though, and none of it would be possible without the extra help!! I’m continuing to rehab some shoulder/elbow issues and had some complications with stitches on opposite hand. One day at a time and positive vibes.

Where to find me in the month of July! Heading into a busy month over here. It’s high tourist season and that alone would be enough to keep me busy. But we all know life can throw you some punches! I started this month with moving into a new house, nursing a shoulder injury, and stitches in my hand. Over the next month, I’ll also be transitioning my studio from Carolina Beach to my house so I’ll be all in one place!! Hopefully finding time to rest and swim in the ocean as we go🌊
