Auditions with Pacific Repertory Theatre

By popular demand, a new round of Rudolph Jr. auditions will be held this Monday, May 25th, only!

This show is restricted to ages 7–18. Students from the Peppy Garner & Darnell Whitt School of Dramatic Arts are strongly encouraged to audition.

There is a $100 participation fee for everyone who is cast in the show to help offset production costs.

Audition Location:
Outdoor Forest Theater

Group Audition from 2:00–3:30 PM

This audition will be held in a group format. Director and Choreographer Christiana Meeks will teach a song and choreography from the show.

Following auditions, selected performers will be invited to callbacks from 4:00–7:00 PM. If you are not invited to a callback, it does not mean you will not be cast. It simply means the director has already seen everything she needs from you.

Conflicts:
A maximum of four conflicts will be permitted prior to November 9. No conflicts after that date will be accepted.

It is important to have all hands on deck as we approach opening. All conflicts must be disclosed before accepting a role. Any conflicts that arise afterward may result in recasting or removal from the production.

What to Bring:
• A headshot (if available — a school photo or selfie is perfectly fine)
• A resume (if available)
• An audition form will be filled out upon arrival

What to Wear:
• Clothes you feel confident in and can move in (clean, no pajamas)
• Jazz shoes or tennis shoes
• Hair pulled out of your face

PacRep will be holding auditions for the following shows from its 2025 season: the blockbuster musical hit Waitress, and the perennial musical favorite Annie.

Brought to life on Broadway by a groundbreaking all-female creative team, Waitress features original music and lyrics by six-time Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles ("Brave," "Love Song"), and a book by acclaimed screenwriter Jessie Nelson. Nominated for four Tony Awards (including Best Musical) in 2016, and cherished by audiences and critics alike, Waitress is inspired by Adrienne Shelly's beloved film and offers a special recipe for finding happiness in unexpected places.

Waitress will be directed and choreographed by Palmer Davis. Rehearsals will begin in early May, and performances run June 19 through July 27, 2025, in PacRep’s newly renovated Founders Theatre at the Golden Bough Playhouse.

Based on the popular comic strip by Harold Gray, Annie has become a worldwide phenomenon and was the winner of seven Tony Awards in 1977, including Best Musical. The beloved book and score by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin features some of the greatest musical theatre hits ever written, including "Tomorrow."

With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan. With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC.

Annie will be directed by Gary Bolen, with choreography by Palmer Davis. Rehearsals will begin in late June, and performances run August 7 through September 21, 2025, at Carmel’s historic Outdoor Forest Theater.

Auditions for both shows will be held at the Indoor Forest Theater, located at the corner of Santa Rita and Mountain View in downtown Carmel-by-the-Sea. Audition sessions will be limited to timed appointments. All auditioners should present one song excerpt and one monologue within a 3-minute total time limit. Songs can be from the show or of a similar style. Auditioners must provide their own electronic accompaniment (iPad, cell phone, etc., and speaker, if needed). Auditioners should also bring a recent headshot and a current resume, if available.
