Violin Shop of Old Carmel will have reduced hours for the week of 10/13/2025 due to staff shortages and illness.

Our OPEN hours for this week only will be:
**Mon: 11AM - 2PM
**Tue: 11AM - 2PM
**Wed: 4PM - 6PM
**Thur: 11AM - 2PM
**Fri: 4PM - 6PM
**Sat: 11AM - 2PM

We will be closing *promptly* at designated times and will not serve clients if they arrive within 15 minutes of closure.

Please call or text 317-818-2326 for questions or to make an appointment. Appointments are not necessary but do help.

The pictures of what happens when a music stand falls on an Italian violin. It made a sound post crack on the back of the violin pretty much “top to bottom” in length. We made a cast for support, made the wood as thin as paper and patched the spot under the sounds post. These are the step by step pictures. The violin is almost ready to be back to its owner.

We posted a few photos of the violin damaged by a woodwarm at the beginning of December. Here is this violin after repairs (it was also decided to revarnish the violin). The owner should be back tomorrow to pick it up. We hope they like it ❤️

Woodworm damage 🐛 this violin has been eaten pretty well. All looks very fresh, so possibly this worm is still alive.
