What began as a public school in 1926 has been transformed into a state-of-the-art performing arts center with an intimate 718 seats, stunning gothic architect

We LOVED kicking off our Century of Creativity with you! Thank you to our incredible community for coming together to help launch the first chapter of Sunset Center’s next 100 years. From the energy in the Carmel-by-the-Sea community to the shared love of arts, culture, and connection, YOU are a powerful reminder of what makes this place so special.

We’re also incredibly grateful for the wonderful coverage and positive press surrounding the event. Friday night plans? We’ve got you covered.

Join us this Friday at Sunset Center's Terrace Hour, when Monterey-based bandleader Rick Forschino unites the peninsula's premier jazz artists — Bill Delap on bass, Mike Shannon on drums, and Ben Herod on saxophone — to form a jazz quartet with incomparable improvisational skill.

Gather your friends, grab a drink, and settle in as great jazz fills the terrace for a beautiful evening in Carmel-by-the-Sea.

For four Friday evenings in August and September, we’re gathering regional musicians — from solo artists to small ensembles — to perform on our outdoor terrace stage, the perfect setting for great music and good vibes. 😎

Every month from April through October, we partner with Good Roots Farmers' Markets and Events to bring you — a FREE public party in Devendorf Park in downtown Carmel, featuring farmers market vendors, live music sponsored by , food, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and fun for the whole family!

On Thursday, July 16 from 4-7pm, we’re bringing you Monterey local Doug Fearnside, back by popular demand! Rock out to original songs showcasing Doug’s raw storytelling and soulful melodies, as well as reimagined Americana and folk-rock classics. 🎸

Victoria Lynn (who you may recognize from the Bubba Pickens Band 👀) will open.

Third Thursday will be off next month due to Car Week, but we’ll be back in September. Drive safe, everybody! 🏎️💨

Come celebrate the start of summer with our community-by-the-sea! 🌊🏝️

On Thursday, June 18 from 4-7pm, we’re presenting Seaside-based Al James Band. Al’s rootsy, soulful music is a true melting pot flavored by everything from Jimi Hendrix to Stevie Wonder. Backed by a stellar band, including Jeff Langan on drums, Bill Walker on lead guitar, and Jesse DeCarlo on bass, this show is sure to be 😘👌 chef’s kiss!

Student mariachi band Mariachi Alma de Mexico will open. 🎺
