Meet Glühwein (pronounced “gloo-vine”), a Market favorite enjoyed by thousands of visitors each year. We’re talking thousands of gallons served every season! 👀

Our Glühwein comes from two special sources. 🇩🇪 Our best-selling traditional Red, along with Cherry, Blueberry, Elderflower, Kinderpunsch, and Feuerzangenbowle, are imported straight from Germany.

Closer to home, our Baked Apple, Cranberry, and Sugar Plum varieties our (second, third, and fourth best sellers) are crafted by Winzerwald Winery in Southern Indiana. 🍎

From Germany to Indiana, there’s a Glühwein for every taste at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt.

If you’ve stopped by the Kinderecke hut at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt, you’ve probably watched the mesmerizing marble run in action. Now, a brand-new portable Kugelbahn is being handcrafted for the Market by Jeroen “Dutch” Honingh, for use at community events throughout the year.

These fun marble runs are found throughout Seiffen, Germany, where entire “Kugeltour” experiences connect multiple tracks across town.

At Hobler Figuren in Grünhainichen, Germany, each piece of Ore Mountains folk art is handcrafted through more than 100 steps. Maple and beech wood are carefully shaped, sanded, painted, and assembled into the figures you know and love.

The signature detail? Authentic Hobler Figuren pieces are marked with a silver heart on the left foot ❤️

A visit to Wendt & Kühn gave our team a glimpse into generations of craftsmanship.

🌟 For us, it’s extra magical when it connects back to the Carmel Christkindlmarkt.

Luise Renner, a student at BSZ für WTSE des Erzgebirgskreises (wooden toy maker & woodturner school) in Seiffen, and a two-year Werkstatt artisan at our Market, is graduating next week and currently works at Wendt & Kühn. We hope to welcome her back for a third season, this time as a guide for future students. ❤️
