First attempt at an iris and liquid watercolor. I’m a little heavy handed. I need to try this again.

I took our friend’s dog for a walk last night and the sky was a beautiful dark blue-gray and I thought “I want to paint this”. It’s not exactly what I had in mind but it was still fun. Watercolor in a 4” sketchbook with white gouache and micron pen.

My first time ! I decided to use my little 4” sketchbook and fill it with tiny paintings. This 2 1/2” painting is watercolor, micron pens and a bit of pastels. Hope I can complete 100!

Someone buy me all of the Caran D’Ache neocolor II pastels!! Please!!! I’m enjoying these almost as much as watercolor.

Life is hard right now… “copying” some of my favorite paintings is enough to calm my brain.

Second attempt with different paper and paints. First was completed with Mission Gold watercolor and canton paper. This one was completed on Arches paper (the best!) and Daniel Smith paints. The color is less saturated, but it has a more transparent watercolor appearance. I’m thinking I’ll do this one more time and then pick a winner.

Completed a painting tutorial by today. Goal is to paint this a few more times to find my favorite to gift my sister.

Thankful that I had a couple hours to myself which never happens. I desperately need a studio space away from home. It’s so hard to concentrate at home.
