Meet the humans behind The Cat! 🎭🐾 Taking his turn in the spotlight is Jake Williams, Music Director for The Drama Department! 🎶

For the past five years, Jake has helped bring productions to life as a music director with Carmel Apprentice Theatre, Reciprocal Productions, and now The Drama Department. 🎹🧡 He brings his experience and love of music to every rehearsal, helping young performers strengthen their voices, trust their abilities, and build confidence that carries with them onstage and beyond. 🌟

If Jake has helped you find your voice along the way, give him some well-deserved curtain-call love in the comments! 👏

Casting a show comes with one guarantee: there can only be one Maria in The Sound of Music. 😉 But at The Cat, the spotlight was never meant for the same few people every time! 🎭

As an accessible community theatre, we’re intentional about giving different participants opportunities from one production to the next. That might mean seeing a brand-new face in a highlighted role or watching a returning participant get a chance they haven’t had before. Every participant can be considered for every role, regardless of experience, background, age, ability, or talent level.

So, when the cast list goes up, remember that the number of lines next to your name is only a tiny part of the story. What matters most is what you do with the role, the confidence you build, the friends you make, and the memories you take with you long after the final bow. 🧡

What’s a role, big or small, that gave you a theatre memory you’ll never forget? 🌟 Tell us in the comments! 👇
