I keep three warped for rugs and the other for table runners. I love to weave and wish I could weave every day. There is a lot of preparation that goes into the process of weaving a rug. Once the loom is warped up and ready to go, I get the fabric ready to weave. Cotton fabrics are cut into long strips and then I fold them over into thirds and run a line of stitches down the fabric so the back sid
e of the fabric does not flip and show up in the rug. All strips are sewn together into one continuous piece. The strips are then wrapped onto shuttles. The shuttles are used to weave the material through the warp. Once a rug is complete, it gets wrapped onto the carpet roll and when I have 10-12 rugs done, I cut the entire roll off of the loom, cut the warp between the rugs and then I hand tie the fringe at both ends. I love to weave different materials, and have recently discovered upholstery selvedge. It is a long fringe-like edge that is on the end of material made for making upholstery. It weaves the most beautiful, thick rugs. I also enjoy doing custom orders. I also love to sew and quilt. I am a Fabricologist! I love most textiles and love to find interesting fabrics to tear up and weave into beautiful rugs and runners.
