WHEW. Does anyone else feel like This season of Halloween isn’t “hallweening” like other Halloweens have Halloweened in the past?
It just feels so rushed. How can we slow it down?
Keeping up has been a challenge for us this year. 🥴
This year has been extra Crazy with all the expectations, things to do, places to be, and overall insanity. The deadlines and schedules. The sports and requirements, and all the dress up days….and just all the noise. 😵💫.
There has to be a better way. When you find it- please clue me IN!
In the meantime- let’s have some FUN:

Carlinville trick or treat Information for our monster house on elm street:
We have (as always) full sized candy bars, along with some non-chocolate candy options, and a few non-candy options too.
And like the last 3 years, there is a potato as a choice. 🫣 (so weird) I also have a few other non- candy choices too.
YOU GET ONE CHOICE only.
I *think* we have enough candy, but you never know. I ran out last year with 800 trick-or-treaters in two days in our sweet little town!

Thursday 10/30 5-8pm is NOT SO SCARY Night
Friday 10/31 5-8pm is VERY SCARY night.
Come one (or both) nights. 👻
*Please remember that on SCARY night- you and your children will be chased. You will be scared. There will be chainsaws. There will be SCARY THINGS HAPPENING. Kids run screaming from this house all evening. I have even heard rumors of monsters hiding in cars as they leave. It’s a beautiful, terrifying madhouse.
BEWARE. We are not responsible for crying kids or accidents. 🫨
At this house- we believe in all things Halloween. We like to see kids scared! 😱 it’s a rite of passage! It’s how it’s supposed to be! We love that kids of every age love it. It’s my goal to make lasting Halloween memories for the kids of this Amazing little town. I love hearing stories about the monster house from your kids year after year. I love seeing the same cars drive by every day and the kids laughing as they roll down the windows and wonder about the ‘monsters’- it’s just the best ever!
If you come to my door dressed up, no matter your age, (as long as they are old enough to actually EAT candy) you will get a treat! Parents, if you go to the effort of dressing up with your kids, please! Take a treat! You deserve it most of all! ❤️
On scary night, you AND your littles need to make it past the porch though…. Don’t send someone in to collect candy for the chickens in the car- it doesn’t work that way! SUCK IT UP! You must be present to get candy. That’s what makes it so much fun!
It’s been a doozy of a few years for us, Personally. We are tired- but. BLESSED. I swear! we have had a lot going on and it made for two insanely busy seasons so, We don’t have *everything* out perfectly like I’d like, but we got most of it out.
I hate to see it all go, but my kids are itching for the next holiday already so enjoy it while you can- it will all be put away this weekend!
*There are scary projections in the cemetery, there are the magic singing pumpkins you don’t want to miss, there is (as always) the magic projection window on the side of the house you’ll drive by that shows really scary scenes with sound
And as always- please don’t let your kids run around in the grass or grab, Sit on, or touch the things in the yard- they are easily broken and there are cords and things that they can trip over and hurt themselves or the decorations. ☠️
