I love how this piece captures the energy of moving water against the rugged rock around it. The contrast between the bright falls, textured cliffs, and green growth gives the whole scene a lot of life and movement.

Watercolor is such a great medium for that feeling because it lets the water, light, and atmosphere stay loose and expressive. If this one speaks to you, I’d love to know what part pulls you in first.

What has your art collection taught you?

Not about art history or markets but about your own taste, your spaces, the way you spend your attention.

"Desert Trail with Flowers" is part of an ongoing conversation on my side of the screen.

I would genuinely like to hear what you have learned.

A Hard Place To Get To !

Havasupai Falls and Turquoise Pools
Watercolor Painting 17" x 11" by artist Ken Moore
Havasupai is one of the most beautiful places on earth. Deep in the crevices of the Grand Canyon within the Havasupai Indian Reservation, you’ll find a hidden verdant oasis of aqua-blue waterfalls and thick groves of trees. To reach Havasupai, you will need to obtain a permit and be prepared for a 20-mile multi-day backpacking trip. It takes some effort, but it is more than worth it!
People underestimate the logistics, the physical demand of the trail, and the reservation system. The result can be a cancelled plan, a dangerous hike in extreme heat, or arrival without required permits.
The Havasupai tribe grants roughly 100 permits per day. Up to 30,000 people visit Havasupai Falls each year.

I painted this trying to depict the moment a narrow cascade becomes a white ribbon against weathered cliffs. I wanted the contrast between the cool fall of water and the warm, textured rock to read clearly, so I used layered washes and loose brushwork to suggest movement without over-defining every detail.
Which season does this feel like to you — spring thaw or late summer flow? Give it one word and I'll use the most popular answer as the title. I also have prints and the original available — I can see this bringing a quiet, natural energy to a living room or study.
This luminous landscape painting presents a tall waterfall spilling between weathered cliffs into a tranquil pool. Soft washes of blue and green sit against warm ochre and charcoal accents, while confident brushwork defines foliage and rocky textures. The composition balances quiet calm with vertical energy, making the scene feel both restorative and alive. Ideal as a striking focal point for a living room, study, or entryway.

When people move house, they make a hierarchy without realizing it.

Some things get donated, some get stored, some make the journey regardless of whether they make logical sense in the new space.

Art almost always travels. It is rarely the practical choice that moves with you. It is the things that meant something. Has that been true for you?

What have you moved more than once, and would "Black Mountain South" make that list?

People sometimes feel they need to be able to articulate why they want a particular work before they are allowed to buy it. That is not how it works.

The attraction does not need a defense. You do not have to be able to explain Welcome to Carefree to someone who asks; you just have to know it belongs in your space.

The explanation, if you want one, tends to arrive later on its own.

Every work that reaches a collector is the result of many decisions, including the decision not to show what came before it.

The finished work is not the whole story. It is the end of a longer, quieter process that most collectors never see.

When you live with 00200 London Bridge Lake Havasu, you are living with the result of the artistic process and all that comes with it.

Ruby Ghost Town Murders

Ruby Ghost Town Murders
Watercolor Painting 17" x 11" by artist Ken Moore
The Ruby Murders is the popular name for three separate incidents involving the deaths of six American citizens near the town of Ruby, Arizona. The first incident occurred in February 1920 when Mexican bandits robbed and killed the two owners of the Ruby Mercantile. A second attack happened in August 1921 when Mexican bandits robbed and killed the store's new owners. Two of the bandits were arrested for the crime, but they briefly escaped custody in July 1922 after killing another two men, which led to the largest manhunt in the history of the Southwest.
The mining town of Ruby was established in Bear Valley during the 1870s and was a haven for cattle rustlers and other criminals for most of its Old West history. Ruby was very small and its one general store was the sole business other than mining. The store was called the Ruby Mercantile, built sometime in the late 1880s, and it also served as the post office when it opened in 1912.

I just finished "Ruby Ghost Town" — a small study of an old, weathered building set against rolling green hills and a wide blue sky. I aimed to portray the quiet left behind when people move on, using layered washes and focused brushwork to reveal rusted tin, cracked stone, and the tall grasses reclaiming the lot.
Which detail draws you in first: the faded roof, the broken window, or the grasses brushing the doorway? Tell me why — I love hearing which elements connect with you. If you’re looking for a piece that brings a touch of history and calm to a room, this one fits nicely.

Devil s Bridge - Sedona

Devil’s Bridge – Sedona

According to legend, the original bridge was built by the very Devil himself, as it was too difficult for mortals to build. The Devil agreed to build the bridge in exchange for the soul of the first being to cross the bridge.
The Devil's Bridge in Sedona is the largest sandstone arch, formed by wind and weather erosion, located in the Coconino National Forest. This distinctive formation is a geologic wonder that should not be missed!
How high is Devils Bridge Sedona?
Image result
about 54 feet tall
Devil's bridge is about 54 feet tall, 5 feet wide, and 45 feet long.
