When originally opened in 1997, Low Key Studios, then known as SF Records, was a direct-to-two-track facility with live mixing and recording. This was inspired by the great Stax recording studios in Memphis, TN, which recorded 90% of their hits directly to mono tape. In early 2005, a completely new studio facility was built in Carbondale, Illinois with updated technology allowing for up to 24 simu

ltaneous recording tracks. Tracking can be done at up to 96 kHz at 24 bits, using Adobe Audition as it's DAW. We have bounced many sessions into ProTools and other computer-based environments where necessary. We have many instruments available in-house for use (additional fees apply):

Fender Rhodes 73 Stage Piano, Hohner Pianet, Hammond B-3 Organ, Motion Sound Leslie-Type Cablnet, Fender Basses, Fender Guitars, Roland & Korg Keyboards, DW Drums, Ampeg B-15 and Ampeg B-100R Bass Amps, Ampeg Guitar Amps, and Martin Acoustic Guitars.

Hello everyone,
Every so often, I check in to ask for people to look in their homes for unused musical instruments. I am the band director for Lewis and Carbondale Middle School. So many of our families struggle with the rising costs of instruments, so any donations of instruments would be graciously appreciated. If you have an instrument to donate, please bring it to the office at Carbondale Middle School, and let the office workers know it is a donation to my attention. If you'd like to meet with me directly, please send me a DM.

Also, I work with the kids on music production and any music/sound stuff whether it be microphones/records/tapes/record players, etc. would be used as learning tools as well.

UPDATE
Today I met with my physical therapist, and it seems I have a bit of an uphill battle, but I'm going to fight...after speaking with my doctor's nurse today, I found out that indeed the tear in my rotator cuff is severe and irreparable. The doctor ended up cleaning the area around the tear and did some cleaning of my bicep that was frayed. They were very honest about the possibilities....extreme...from where I could gain full range of motion even with the severe tear....what scares me is that there's also a chance that I may not ever get lateral motion of my left arm ever again, meaning my days of playing bass, guitar and left hand keys are over. Hearing that scares me to death, and I have a tendency to catastrophise things and think the worst. I am a music teacher and musician. Without the abiltiy to use my arm properly in that capacity will wipe away 40 years of work. I know I'm a needy, worrysome person, but I am trying to stay posititve and let God give my doctor and physical therapist the tools to heal me. Music has been my life, my friend, my first love....and my identity. I am scared, and I'm being selfish for making this into a bigger deal than it is....but it's my truth.
