🚨 BOOKING AGENTS 🚨
I NEED YOUR HELP!

I’m looking for independent booking agents, boutique agencies, contracted agents, artist managers who handle booking, and larger agency teams who are willing to test something I’ve been building.

Map My Gig now has an Agency Workspace, designed specifically for people managing and booking multiple artists.

I need real booking professionals to get inside it, use it the way you actually work, and tell me:

* What makes sense?
* What’s missing?
* What feels clunky?
* What would actually save you time?
* What would make you want to keep using it?

This is not a sales pitch. I’m looking for honest feedback from people who live in the booking world every day.

If you’re a booking agent, whether you represent one artist or an entire roster, comment AGENT below or send me a DM.

And if you know a booking agent who would give me good, candid feedback, please tag them.

I want to build the Agency Workspace with booking agents, not just for them.

Well… this just got real.

Map My Gig is one of 10 finalists in the Eficens National Virtual AI Pitch Competition.

On Thursday, I’ll be pitching what I’m building and how Map My Gig can help independent artists make better decisions about where to play, how to route tours, and how to fill those frustrating empty dates between shows.

I started Map My Gig because I saw the same problem over and over again with independent artists: finding the right venues and building a tour that actually makes financial sense is HARD.

Now I get five minutes to tell that story.

No pressure. šŸ˜‚

Seriously though, I’m incredibly excited about this opportunity and thankful for every artist who has helped shape Map My Gig so far.

Wish me luck!

āœ… When and how to follow up

Every week I talk with independent artists who are frustrated because they send dozens of booking emails and rarely hear back.

The good news? Silence usually isn't about your music.

After years of booking artists through Cape G Rocks and building relationships with venues, I've learned there are a few simple things that can dramatically improve your chances of getting a response.

I put everything I have learned into this new article, and I hope it helps artists book more shows and build better tours.

HOW TO CONTACT MUSIC VENUES WITHOUT GETTING IGNORED

If you know a musician who is trying to book shows, I would really appreciate you sharing this with them. My goal is to create practical resources that help independent artists spend less time guessing and more time playing music.

Why most booking emails get ignored — and how research, the right contact, a skimmable email, and respectful follow-up turn venue outreach into booked shows.

One of the biggest mistakes I see independent artists make is trying to book every venue they can find.

The reality is that the right venue is worth far more than a hundred bad leads.

Finding venues that actually fit your music, your audience, and your route can save time, reduce frustration, and lead to better shows.

I wrote this new article to share some of the lessons I have learned years of working with independent artists and building Map My Gig.

If you're planning a tour, or even just thinking about one, I hope you will give it a read.

If you’ve ever finished a tour wondering where all the money went, this one’s for you.

One of the biggest mistakes independent artists make isn’t on stage—it’s in the planning. A few small decisions before you leave home can make the difference between a profitable tour and one that costs you money.

I break down some of the most common mistakes I see and how to avoid them.

Read it here:

The five costly mistakes that quietly drain independent tour budgets — zigzag routing, long drives for small gigs, hidden mileage costs — and how to fix them.

Every tour teaches you something.

What if your tour planning software could learn those lessons too?

That’s exactly what we’re building with Map My Gig.

Map My Gig isn’t just a map with venues pinned on it. It’s a platform designed to help independent artists build smarter tours by connecting the dots between where you’re going, where you have open dates, and where real opportunities exist along your route.

As more artists use it, Map My Gig gets smarter.

It learns which venues respond.
It recognizes which markets consistently produce opportunities.
It gets better at identifying logical routing decisions.
It becomes more helpful at suggesting places you may have overlooked.

Every venue that’s verified, every route that’s planned, every tour that’s completed, and every piece of feedback helps improve the experience for the next artist.

That’s the power of building a platform around real touring data instead of guesswork.

We’re still early, and we’re adding new intelligence every week. The vision has always been bigger than helping artists find venues. It’s about helping independent musicians make better touring decisions with more confidence.

If you’re an independent artist, I’d love for you to give Map My Gig a try and help shape where it goes next. Every new user makes the platform a little smarter for everyone.

Turn dead travel days into booked shows. Better routes, filled open dates, and a tour that keeps moving. Free 7-day trial.

The more independent artists use Map My Gig, the better Map My Gig can become.

I built Map My Gig around a pretty simple problem:

Touring artists shouldn’t have to spend hours trying to figure out what to do with the empty dates between shows.

You already know where you’re playing Friday and Sunday.

What about Saturday?

That’s where Map My Gig comes in.

Put in the shows you already have booked, find the gaps in your route, discover venues that actually make sense along the way, and start turning those empty dates into opportunities.

But I’m not finished building this.

I want the artists actually using Map My Gig on the road to help shape where it goes next.

If you’re an independent artist actively booking your own shows, I want you in there.

Put a real route into it. Use it. Push it. Tell me what’s useful. Tell me what’s missing. Tell me what would make you use it every time you start planning a run.

I’m building this for the independent artists doing the work themselves.

Want to try it? Comment ā€œLINKā€ and I’ll send it to you.

And one question:

What’s the most frustrating part of booking an open date between two shows?
