Far from professionally posed, but I figured I'd hop on quick and show the little bit of progress I've made on my . I've just completed the first lace section and have enjoyed watching the shape of this grow and change. This is the first time I've worked with mohair without holding it double with something else. The fabric it creates is so delicate and soft, I can't help but stop and admire it often. The mohair is the color Yucca and the orange is the color way Pear on a Merino single base. Both of these delightful color ways were created by one of my all time favorite indie dyer .for.the.people

A little finishing work

Nearly through the of my but . My sister has been visiting for the past two weeks (yayyyy! 😁) So this piece has been put on hold for a little bit while I've been having some much needed sister time. She's the best, you guys. But it feels so good knowing I'm close to decreasing (I've modified the sleeve slightly) and a couple inches after that it's all cuffs and bind offs 🥰🥰 I'm looking forward to the next brisk foggy day here on our little stretch of Maine coastline to break this beauty out.

Yarns in this little clip: burnt(orange) and carnival barker (main color) both on the NFL base. Dyed by .for.the.people

Plugging away on the last few inches of the body of my while watching the latest episode of the lovely .and.fox where she showcases all of her springy makes. As always I'm floored by her designs. And as a best friend I am brimming with pride over her achievements and creativity. If you haven't checked her out yet, go ahead and find her, she's wonderful.

We have a quiet Saturday today and I'm hoping to get some knit and house projects done. What's everyone else doing today?

I am halfway through with the raglan increases on my by . My first time working brioche of any kind, it took me a few tries to get in the groove (especially since this is a modified stitch as far as I can tell). This is also my first knit cardigan. Not gonna lie I've avoided cardigans because the thought of purling so much is just a bit of a mental turn off 😂 I'm working with a beautiful Merino/Nylon 2Ply by .for.the.people in the colorway Titanium. Watching how differently the color plays out row by row has been fascinating. My goal is to get the sleeves separated and a few rows of the body worked before returning to my other sweater, that's been put on time out, to finish it's colorwork yoke that had to redone. This must be a year of garment knitting for me, because everywhere I look I see another sweater or top begging to be cast on!

What are some of your favorite garments that you have made or are working on?

Did I mention episode 5 of is up on YouTube? This episode was filmed in my new little knitting nook, and included cameos from cats, a new garment, and that miniature club I'm holding here. Grab a beverage and a WIP and sit with me a while!

Inch by beautiful inch the body of my is appearing. Though it feels slow going at times, when I hold it up I am constantly amazed by the progress that's been made. I am also amazed when I stop and realize the little bits of personal growth and confidence that have been made as a knitter. This will be the third sweater I have made, the second colorwork one. The first one I knit was a worsted weight pattern and took me almost a year. The second was also worsted, my first ever colorwork project, and took about 9 months. This sweater is a DK weight, and I'm already farther along in its pattern progress than I was with the previous sweaters in a shorter time frame. We'll see if that changes when I get to sleeve island 🤣

Do you have a project on your needles? Consider this as a tag and show me in your stories!

Surprised with a tonight. Even though we live in we're living that life and get less snow than we'd like to see. Being new englanders, born and bred, there was a time when my husband and I wished we never would see this white stuff again. How, after five years of living in a southern(and partially down right tropical climate) we have realized that there is a love and longing for our roots. When I realized it was snowing, I took my dog out while in a tank top and crocs and reveled in the fresh crisp air. It truly is beautiful. And I really have missed it.
