Workshop next month! It’s a good one!! May 11 at 6:30 pm

Thursday, May 11th Willow and Rosebud is back in the studio for another incredible (not-to-be-missed!) workshop. Combining the form and structure of macramé with the soft, playful texture of weaving, Macra-Weave brings together the best of both arts with stunningly beautiful results. With step-by-step instructions, you'll use basic macramé knots to create a "loom" to weave unique textiles and fibers into, creating patterns and textures of your own design. All materials are provided and we encourage you to share some favorite colors at booking so we can try to include them in our selection. The finished piece measures approximately 10"x 35"
These workshops tend to have such a light, enjoyable feel to them- a perfect opportunity for a relaxing night out with friends. ❤
Light snacks and drinks welcome. Attendees 21+ are welcome to BYOB

I can see such a connection between photography and fiber art. When making pictures I am often looking at shapes, lines, and textures. Swipe to see a photograph I took of Colette last summer. What connections can you make?

I was scrolling through old videos on my phone last night. Some were hard to see. Willow before her surgery, walking through the halls of Children’s hospital on Mothers Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving of 2019. Pictures of her directly after with a tube in her nose, pale faced, and bloated from the steroid regime that she was on. There were some very dark days. And in between those photos and videos there were also moments of brightness. Pictures of all of the things that I’ve made. The expressions of my creativity and beauty amidst all of the painful things we were experiencing. The irony of this is not lost on me and looking at these with the perspective that I have now, I know that creating gave me so much joy at that time, when I was craving it so desperately. In particular this picture stood out for me because it’s so colorful and vibrant. I can see the freedom in my playfulness. So today, I hope that it brings you some joy. And if you are the midst of darks I’m here to listen.

Yep I’m 38 today. And while I’m nearing the BIG birthday… I wouldn’t go back for anything.
This 38 year old is more confident and comfortable in her own skin than she’s ever been. She’s let go of toxic and unhealthy relationships in her life. She’s doing all the things she wants to do because if not now, when? I have so much to be grateful for and I truly am. Love to you all ❤️
