It's raining--hope it lasts a little while. Very soft rain, but I love the smell! I just went out on the back porch and watched and smelled--Heaven! If ever we need a real soft, slow, long-lasting rain here, it's now. That second painting I did when I was painting at Sunset Center. I was up there pretty late and painting this rain shower. It was really dry and I prayed for rain as I painted. On my way home to Canyon, I could see lightning over toward Hereford. And whaat do you know it started raining. I love to paint rain clouds like this. You know "Rain is Good Where I Come From"--sounds like a country song!

Artfest in Canyon is from 2-6 on the square this Saturday May 2nd. I'll be hanging out with some painter friends at the studio. Make it around the corner to visit with us. I plan on painting and if you want to bring your stuff down and paint with us, come on down. I've got some great mugs (regular $25--$20 during Artiest!) They have paintings of local spots on them--PD Canyon, Tex Randall, Honey Creek Lavender and more! Looking forward to seeing you on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

The Frame Truck will be at Marsha Clements Art on Saturday morning, April 18th at 10:30. Don't miss this opportunity to get some quality ready made frames at a great price. I just love the new mugs I have in the studio that feature my paintings. They are really beautiful. A great gift--maybe for yourself! It's a treat to have your coffee or tea in one of these mugs. 11 oz. for $25. There are a lot more. I'll try to get them posted. I have some of Palo Duro Canyon and Tex Randall that would make great souvenirs.

Mr. Lopez will be at my studio about 10:30 Saturday morning with a load of frames. He said he has a great selection. The one on this buffalo is one of his frames. They come out of Mexico and he sells them to us for a good price. So if you are in need of a frame--come on down to Marsha Clements Art this Saturday morning. Check to see what sizes you need. He will have a variety of sizes, moldings, and colors. He usually stays about an hour.

Don't miss out on this fun class! This is an update on the class announcement I sent last week. We will paint eight 5" x 6" spring paintings. They are just the right size to use on greeting cards or they fit in a 4" x 6" frame to add to you spring decor. After you get the technique down-- you can paint a gift bag--your choice--bunny or lamb! These are a lot of fun. I will demonstrate and then you will paint yours--kind of a paint along. They are painted loose--a little abstracted. You can't mess it up! It is going to be so much fun! I will furnish all supplies. Just bring yourself and a drink--bring a friend!
