Silk yarn comes in cones of various sizes. At Golden Warp Yarn Co, all of our undyed silk is on 500 gr cones and the colored silk is on 250 gr cones. This is often double the sizes that you will find in other stores but at the same price point. We carry three different types of silk: Mulberry, Tussah, Eri. They are all amazing but each has its own quality.

Mulberry is shiny and lustrous, it's what most people think of when they think of silk.

Tussah and Eri are wild silks meaning the worms/moths that make them cannot be domesticated. Tussah is naturally a light brown color. It's fluffier than Mulberry. Incredibly soft. Has a rustic look to it. Eri is like the wool of the silk world. It has a subtle sheen that gets stronger with pressing on silk setting. It is soft and feels like a cloud against your skin. It's rustic in appearance and a light cream color.

Combining the three silks in one piece gives really amazing results. Come on over and see what peaks your creativity while everything is 20% off the already lower prices.

Started with a pattern from Handwoven and then went down a different path. Huck lace mixed with plain weave. Mulberry Silk yarn 20/2 in blue, golden yellow and a light pink. I used the color grid to figure out the addition of the pink which I thought was really weird but then it grew on me. Looked really good on my husband so it's his now :)
