Nobody tells you that owning a studio isn't just doing what you love. ❤️
Somewhere along the way, you become the receptionist, accountant, marketer, maintenance crew, janitor, and problem solver too. The art is still my favorite part, but it turns out running a business requires wearing a lot more hats than I ever expected.
When I moved into a larger studio, I thought it was the natural next step. “I thought I made it” What I didn't realize was that a bigger space doesn't automatically mean a bigger paycheck. Sometimes it means more rent, more utilities, more responsibility, more sleepless nights, and realizing that success looks very different behind the scenes than it does from the outside.
That being said, I don't regret building WildHaven for a second. This space has taught me lessons I never would have learned otherwise. It has challenged me, humbled me, stretched me, and introduced me to some incredible people along the way. I understand now why so many talented artists choose to stay in small private suites, but I also understand how lucky I am to have built something that reflects my heart, my vision, and the community that continues to support it.
WildHaven may not be perfect, but it's mine, and for that I'll always be grateful. 🌵🤍
