I love being the person people call when they have random things to get rid of. Anyone who knows me knows I work with a lot of creatives and artists, and artists use materials of all types.

I got a text “know anyone who could use wool right off the sheep?”

Why, yes I do!

I immediately thought of ! She enthusiastically said she was interested so we arranged for pick up.

She procures, cleans, dyes and spins her own wool and yarn, and the quality of her pieces reflect her expertise and care.

Artists take raw, unglamorous materials and transform them into beautiful art.

That’s what makes original art so special…artists are alchemists.

And I get the pleasure of often being the middleman in that equation ❤️

I love it here.

My job requires me to be all over the place, physically and mentally, most of the time. Networking, festivals, planning, marketing, cleaning, curating…I love it all. But it can feel chaotic. Or it can feel as though I’m always living in the future I’m trying to create.

But as I was taking photos for, well, marketing, I paused. I stopped looking through the lens and reminded myself to look with my presence. To just be here, surrounded by incredible art made by amazing humans in a space so filled with soul that people are impacted as soon as they walk in.

I let myself be impacted too.

It’s easy to drift and get caught up in the doing…the growing…the succeeding. But that’s not what art is all about. And it’s important for me to get back to the “why” again and again and again.

There’s no real point to this post other than to share this place from a moment of pause instead of a moment of trying to accomplish something.

Art is great for that ❤️

I love it here.

Artists — applications are open for the Georgia Outdoor Festival and Expo!

This show is all about art inspired by the outdoors, nature, adventure, wildlife, landscapes, natural materials, and the connection between creativity and the world around us.

We’re creating a fun, welcoming outdoor experience filled with artists, live music, food, and people who genuinely love discovering and supporting art AND the outdoors.

If your work connects to nature in any way — literal or abstract — we’d love to see it.

Tag an artist who would be a great fit and help us spread the word! 🍃

I’m away from the gallery, but never away from art.
I love finding art shops in new towns and visiting museums wherever I go.

And I know I’m not unique in that. Art is a draw for so many people. I see it in the gallery all the time…people traveling through, googling “art,” and somehow finding their way to Menagerie on Main. That is always such an honor to me.

Because art connects people to places. It creates experiences and memories. It makes a town feel alive.
So visiting these spaces while I travel doesn’t just inspire me because I personally love art. It reminds me why places like Menagerie matter. It motivates me and gives me ideas for what’s still to come at Menagerie on Main.

If you missed the energy of West Main Print Fest, you still have time to experience one of the best parts of it.

Georgia Ink: A Printmakers Exhibition is still on view through May, and it is absolutely worth a visit. This show brings together a wide range of printmaking styles, techniques, and voices from artists across Georgia, and I love how much variety is packed into the space.

Printmaking has this beautiful balance of process and experimentation. You can see the hand of the artist in every piece…the layers, textures, marks, imperfections, and surprises that make the work feel alive. Whether you already love printmaking or have never really explored it before, this show is approachable, interesting, and full of work that pulls you in.

One of my favorite things about exhibitions like this is watching people realize how expansive art can be. There is so much creativity represented here, and every artist brings something completely different to the table.

If you’ve been meaning to stop by the gallery, this is a great time to do it. Come spend a little time with the work, slow down for a minute, and discover a few pieces that stick with you.

And remember, you can even get yourself a 🍷 to enjoy while you linger.

First West Main Print Fest was a success!

So much meaningful engagement…people making, learning about and experiencing art in ways they never have before.

And THATS what it’s all about.

The creative community is the backbone of a vibrant society. That is a hill I will die on.

Thank you to EVERYONE who participated, visited and supported this event. Special shoutout to who really was the mastermind and organizer. His passion is contagious and his efforts are appreciated by so many…that is evident.

I also think Menagerie on Main will be getting a permanent button making station. Wouldn’t that be fun?
