Last Wednesday, the room was FULL at Resilience Choir rehearsal.
Voices of all ages came together to sing, laugh, encourage one another, and simply belong. That’s what makes this choir so special. The Resilience Choir is not just for adults. It’s a welcoming singing community for children, teens, parents, and individuals experiencing hardships, including housing insecurity, food insecurity, and social isolation.
When families are navigating incredibly difficult circumstances, access to the arts can become one of the first things lost. Yet research continues to show that participation in music and the arts can reduce stress, improve emotional well-being, strengthen social connection, and help children build resilience during periods of trauma and instability. The National Endowment for the Arts has highlighted that arts participation supports emotional expression, confidence, belonging, and community connection for youth facing adversity. Group singing specifically has also been linked to reduced loneliness, improved mood, and stronger feelings of social support.
At Resilience Choir, we see those outcomes every single week.
We see children smiling.
We see families connecting.
We see neighbors encouraging one another.
We see people who may feel invisible in other spaces finding joy, dignity, and belonging through song.
But we need your help to continue this work.
🎵 $80 supports one singer for a full 10-week rehearsal cycle
