If you've been missing the performing arts as much as we have, we have some good news for you! Our friends over at Theatre At Malone University have been working on a virtual retelling of George Orwell's "Animal Farm." The production features Malone students, including Opera Theatre alums Keon Dalziel (Fall '18, Spring '19, Fall '19), Josof Ruttig (Fall '19, Spring '20), and Christian Sanko (Spring '19).

It is with sadness that we share the news that our upcoming production of "The Children of the King" has been postponed. This comes as part of Malone University's overall response to the potential threat of COVID-19.

Our hope is that we will be able to reschedule the performance for a later date this semester, so be on the lookout for updates as we move forward.

If you have already purchased tickets, you should have received an email from the Malone music office with instructions on how to refund or hold your purchase.

Did you hear the news? Malone Opera Theatre will be performing at First Friday next week! This event takes place in the Arts District of downtown Canton on the first Friday of each month.

We'll be in the Saxton Gallery, located at 520 Cleveland Ave NW, from 6:00-7:00 next Friday, March 6. Cast members will present some favorite arias and duets from classic operas and musicals. We'll close our program with a sneak peek of the BRAND NEW opera "The Children of the King" that we will premiere on March 27-28!

This event is totally free and open to the public, so we hope to see you Friday, March 6 at 6:00!

WOW! What an awesome first night of auditions for "The Children of the King"! We were blown away by all the talent in the room.

Malone students officially started the spring semester yesterday, and MOT begins TONIGHT! We'll be gathering for our informational meeting about "The Children of the King" at 4:00 in JC-122. Hope to see you there!

In just over a week, Malone students will be back to classes, which for us means back to Opera Theatre! Join us on Tuesday, January 14th for an informational meeting about auditions for our upcoming premiere of "The Children of the King."

Even if you can't make the meeting, you are still welcome to audition; just sign up for a time slot on either Thursday, January 16th or Friday, January 17th. Sign up sheet will be posted outside of JC-119A. Time slots may also be secured by emailing Heather Curtis at [email protected].

A new year means a new semester, and a new semester calls for a brand new production!

That's right – Malone Opera Theatre is thrilled to announce that this spring we will be premiering a BRAND NEW one-act opera by Canton's own Steve Parsons - Composer. The opera, "The Children of the King," is based on the children's book of the same name by best-selling Christian author Max Lucado. Wow!

We can't wait to get started, and auditions are coming up fast. Please contact MOT Director Heather Curtis for more information.
