Challenge Four

Challenge Four For over a half decade the Challenge Four YMCA Adventure Race has provided the southeast with a challenging and very doable race experience.

In 2011 teams of all abilities will compete in a 20+ mile race in which participants will run, canoe, orienteer and bike their way to the ultimate finish in Downtown Woodstock. Teams have come to expect the best from YMCA events. 100% of the proceeds from this event go to supporting youth at summer camp. Statistics support and show that kids are spending less time in the outdoors than ever before and that the average time spent in front of a digital screen, whether it be TV, video game, computer, etc, is 9 hours per day. As adventure enthusiasts, we know that being out doors not only keeps us physically healthy, but also mentally healthy as well. By participating in this event you are supporting healthy living and youth development by sending children to camp and it is the Y’s social responsibility to ensure that every child has that chance. The fun won’t stop at the Finish Line. Join us following the race in Downtown Woodstock for the Greenprints Alliance Streetfest. The second annual event will feature live music, food, drink and activities for the whole family. The day will be capped off by a free concert by Drivin N Cryin.

The first annual Urban Challenge Four was a success. Awareness increases for youth obesity. Friends & families had fun together being active. Thanks to everyone for fairing the weather and racers, you made our month. Watch for the next event.
