Check out this great learning opportunity this Saturday!

Joshua Roman, cellist and guest artist for our upcoming concert, MasterWorks - Beethoven & Elgar, will be hosting a masterclass here at the symphony center on the morning of Saturday, October 1st. He will be coaching three CYSAO students through music and providing a two hour educational experience. This masterclass is free and open to the public and highly encouraged for young string players.

Alumna, Julia Cheatham (20'), will be performing, debuting and conducting her very own composition at Berklee College of Music tonight at 7:30pm. You can view the livestream here!

The Composer Sinfonietta, directed by Richard Carrick, is an ensemble at Berklee. Open to all performers, it focuses on contemporary music creation with an emphasis on composers/performers who join to write and perform new music for the chamber orchestra.

Camp Z is back!

Join us June 6-10, 2022, for strings instruction with the Canton Symphony Orchestra. Led by Raylena Mae Bevington, students of intermediate-advanced levels will learn fundamentals and more on their string instrument. Students will be coached by musicians from Canton Symphony and will present a concert for the public on the final day of the program.

Date: June 6-10
Time: 8am - 12pm - Intermediate String Camp
1-5pm - Advanced String Camp

Cost: $150 (scholarships available)

Nominate a teacher today!

We are taking nominations for the sixth annual Music Educator of the Year Award through January 6, 2022! Anyone can nominate a music educator for this award. We will celebrate their hard work, perseverance, and dedication to sharing music in our community. The award will be presented on March 5, 2022 during our MasterWorks concert, Celebration of the CSO at 7:30PM.

The Music Educator of the Year Award will be presented alongside the Art Educator of the Year Award, and be co-sponsored by both the Canton Museum of Art and the Massillon Museum. To learn more about this award and to nominate a music educator, visit www.cantonsymphony.org/music-educator-of-the-year-award/.
