Our intermediate/advanced pointe take at the swan lake trend 🦢

What’s a movement that looks easy, but is so hard for you? Gentle reminder, simple does not equal easy!! For example, breaking down the mechanics of a fouettĆ© turn. We aren’t turning but the muscles are all working and we are getting the hang of the coordination needed. Sometimes moving slowly through a space, breaking down a movement, or going back to the basics can be even harder than going for a trick! Here at CDA you’ll find us going slow when needed šŸ’™

Sometimes stepping back as a dancer, and looking at things through a different lense is so very important. Pausing, to see how much you’ve grown and how much work you’ve put into your technique in a season. Have you been a good teammate? Did you have a personal best performance this year? Did you focus and grow in your technique classes? Those are the questions we like to ask our dancers, and that we hope our dancers are asking themselves. CDA is hard at work still at the beginning stages of cleaning our pieces, to get them stage ready. We can’t wait to see everything at the end of the season, and ask ourselves those questions. Here’s to lots of hard work and team building šŸ’™

Intermediate/Advanced Pointe take on this funny ballet trend 🤣 Pointe is very demanding and takes a lot of strength and focus. CDA prides itself, in having wonderful pointe instructors who focus on building strength and proper use of our feet and leg muscles. When done properly and at the right time, pointe can take lower body strength and balance to the next level for a dancer. Life without ballet? Pointe-less šŸ˜‰šŸ©°

Here at CDA we are always striving for our dancers to be their best self, not for perfection! There is nothing more inspiring than watching a dancer grow as an artist and teammate! We got to watch some of our dancers have their first pointe class, and it was a beautiful example of why hard work matters. Here’s to a beautiful season of growth, strength, technique, and artistry.

Watching the next generation of dancers admire the ā€œbig kidsā€ really tugs at our heart strings! Starting your kids in dance early is so wonderful for their development and I think the big kids feel pretty amazing being role models and dancers to look up to!
