TAUNY TAUNY staff conducts research on local culture and presents it to the public in a variety of formats.

A nonprofit arts organization and historic downtown Center with an artisan store, cafe, and public programs (live concerts, exhibits, dances) dedicated to showcasing the living traditions of the Northern New York region. Capitalizing on our location in the North Country, an internationally recognized region that includes the Adirondack Mountains and St. Lawrence River Valley, The TAUNY Center is a destination for scholars and students of all ages interested in rural heritage topics. Memorial Day is a day we pay homage to all those who have passed and we honor them for their contributions. Silently we celebrate those whose light has dimmed and rejoice in the opportunity to bring new endeavors through the TAUNY Spotlight Gallery . The opening exhibit of our newest artist Sheryl Scales was a testament to this tradition at TAUNY. Please celebrate the seasons with us through Sheryl's vibrant explosion of color and light.

On August 22, GardenShare will again partner with Applewood Orchards to bring back this fun family event. This year - it's a full day! Join us for a special evening of chamber music this May! Sinfonietta violinist Vlad Hontila and cellist Georgia Reine Bourderionnet will perform an exciting program in the beautiful St. Agnes Church in Lake Placid.

Presented in partnership with the Adirondack Center for Writing, this unique program will also showcase original written pieces by Lake Placid middle school students inspired by the music being performed. Tickets available at the link below:

As the Fiberistas “Tribute to TAUNY” Exhibit nears its conclusion, twin sisters and owners of Glow Skincare &,Spa pose beside the textile version of their storefront at the TAUNY Center. Fiberista Ann Heidenreich was the artist who re-imagined the Glow storefront as part of the group’s Main Street Slice Quilt project.

Instead of an application form, artists submit a digital presence, a website, portfolio, or social profile linked through a .ART domain that documents their identity, process, and work as one continuous record.

It offers $50K+ in total prize value, including a $15,000 grand prize, artist residencies in France and Spain, editorial coverage in leading art media, and a premium .ART domain.

Judged by a 10-member international jury including leading voices in contemporary art and culture. Winners will be revealed during Art Basel Miami on December 3, 2026.
