Congratulations, Misty and Terry Roudebush!
Sometimes things have a funny way of working out exactly as they're supposed to.
A little over two months ago, I was scheduled to DJ a wedding in Norwalk on June 6. When that wedding canceled, the date suddenly opened up on my calendar. Three weeks ago, Misty reached out and filled the vacancy. We met for the first time just three days before the wedding, and I didn't meet Terry until last night. Despite the short timeline, everything came together beautifully.
From the moment I sat down with Misty, I could tell this wedding was going to be different. There was no desire to overcomplicate things or turn the day into a production. Instead, Misty and Terry embraced a simple philosophy that many couples could learn from: less is more. They focused on what mattered, trusted the process, and allowed the day to unfold naturally. The result was a wedding that felt relaxed, genuine, and completely centered on the people and relationships that brought everyone together.
The celebration took place at A Cord of Three in Hanoverton, and what a remarkable venue it is. Set inside a beautifully restored nineteenth-century schoolhouse, it is filled with character, history, and charm. It was my first opportunity to work there, and I spent much of the evening admiring what they have created. I sincerely hope last night was the first of many weddings I have the privilege of DJing there.
Misty and Terry, thank you for trusting me with such an important day on such short notice. It was a joy watching everything come together and seeing how effortlessly the two of you enjoyed every moment.
At the end of every wedding, I have a tradition. Before I pack up, I always take a photo with the newlyweds, but it has been a difficult weekend getting those photos. đ
i didn't get the chance to take a photo with my couple on Friday night at all. Then, last night, when it came time for that picture, I went looking for Terry and couldn't find him anywhere. Whether he was saying goodbye to family, helping clean up, or simply vanished into the night remains a mystery. Fortunately, Misty was much easier to locate, so last night's photo was a moment shared between DJ and bride alone.
Congratulations again, Terry and Misty! I wish you both a lifetime of laughter, happiness, and countless wonderful memories together. â¤ď¸
