The Java Barn (pronounced nah-tar-wah), was established in 1993 as a student-run coffeehouse at St. Lawrence University (SLU), it is a well-known venue among touring bands on the East Coast of the United States, including those who have risen to fame such as Ani DiFranco, Guster, Dave Matthews Band, Vertical Horizon, and Zach Deputy. While we don’t have a typical Thursday show this week, we have a whole day of music for you and everyone visiting our campus this weekend during Laurentian Weekend. So come see us this Saturday (8/3)!!!

We begin with student bands, featuring the return of an extremely loved previous student band that incorporates some recent alumni 👀, from 3-6 at the Java Barn. Stop by to enjoy some lovely fresh cut melons, buy a tshirt, grab some stickers, and check out the lovely activities presented by our fellow theme house the Artist Guild! 🎨🖌️

Later on, we welcome back Professor Louie and the Crowmatix🐦‍⬛🎼🎤 If you joined us last year for this weekend come by to hear some familiar tunes!

Doors for this will open at 9pm for a 9:30pm start time!

Wanted to let you all know about the Grand Point North (https://www.grandpointnorth.com/) music festival this year at Waterfront Park, September 18–20.

This year’s lineup features Jackson Browne, Grace Potter, Portugal. The Man, Dawes, Trampled by Turtles, Dark Star Orchestra, and many more!

The festival works to support the Grand Point Foundation
(https://www.grandpointfoundation.org/), a nonprofit founded by local Vermonter (and SLU student!) Grace Potter and dedicated to supporting the arts in Vermont.
