Hey everyone! I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for all the support you've shown me throughout the years. I have such fond memories of Open Studio at Adi Shakti. If you can believe it my girls (Tap Tap) have grown and are off to college!

So, I'm excited to share with you all my new adventure into the world of painting and home goods. Please go follow and like my new artist page and show some love for this new endeavor! Your support means the world to me, and I can't wait to share this new journey with you.

🎨 Work in Progress! 🎨

Today was a wild ride while painting! This one is taking so many unexpected turns, and I'm loving the direction it's headed... but even I’m not sure where it will go next! 🤷‍♀️✨

The colors, textures, and imagery have all shifted, and I’m on the edge of my seat, wondering what the next session will bring. When I begin a painting, I lay out a general composition, and then intuitively, I see what comes up. For this one, I wanted to try a figure. But everything else comes from... well I don't know where? Sometimes a reliable shape something usually based in nature, sometimes a new idea to explore!

Attention all clay/ceramic arts lovers! An open studio will be held the 1st Wednesday of every month at Baker Prairie Middle School from 6-8. Are you missing the time we used to gather and make cool things with clay? I do! Join me in the BPMS ceramic studio, a freewill donation is accepted for materials but the time and brief instruction is free. We are using lowfire clay which will be a bit different from the mid-high fire clay and glazes used at Adi Shakti, but the glaze colors are often more vibrant. It would be so fun to see you all again, so consider joining us some evenings for this all ages event! Bring friends. Our next open studio is this Wednesday night 11/1 from 6-8pm, come in the main entrance and follow the sign to the left to the art studio! Hope to see you there.

Tonight is the final open studio class. Drop on by to say hello I have lots of treats and goodies to share, you can glaze a piece of random pottery, or just come say hello if you ever came to a studio class or even thought about it drop on in anytime from 6:30-9:30pm tonight.

Tomorrow is the last day for wet clay at Open studio. Next Tuesday is the last glaze day. Join us on the final open studio night on October 29th for appetizers and conversation That night you can pick up your final pieces. Or pick up the random piece you might have left here 3-30 months ago. Or just drop in to reminisce. If I don't hear from you in the next few weeks all finished and unfinished work might be put into our free door prize give away by 8pm that night. Must be present to win!

An Open letter about upcoming studio changes:
As many of you know, this August I am going back to work part time. I have accepted an Administrative Support position at Management West in Aurora.
I want to thank you all for being a part of open studio and making Tuesday nights so special. The last 3 years have been a steady pursuit of learning through doing. I have watched friends of the studio create the most amazing projects and have ALWAYS enjoyed sharing my studio time. What a blast I've had through our many successes and even some of the project failures together. I want to offer my sincere gratitude to each and everyone of you that have taken part in Open studio even if it was for the shortest of times.

Here are the changes that will be coming up:

From August – October 29th:
Open Studio will continue for all that have already taken classes through community education or have attended an open studio. It will be the same time, Tuesdays 6:30-10:30pm. At the same drop in rate of $12. However, I will no longer be advertising Open studio as open to the public. During this time it will be only for experienced studio guests to finish up any projects they are working on or have been concocting in their imaginations.

After November 1st. I am going to take a holiday break from teaching and focus entirely on the creation and selling of my artwork through gallery, art shows and etsy. I have difficulty imagining that I will no longer be teaching or sharing my studio with others so I say “holiday break” for after the first of the year I hope to begin some collaborative work or offer more structured workshop style classes again. I want these offerings to come from a place of sincerity and an authentic desire to share some small knowledge and the mediums I am most excited about. So we will all, including myself, have to wait and see what takes shape.

I hope to see you in the next few months if you have a desire to finish up just one (or a few) more piece(s)! I will continue to use this studio page to keep in touch about new artwork available and future offerings.
